Opinion About USA Resident Only Survey

Hi Gang

I just wanted to get your opinion on this.

We were in DisneyWorld for 2 weeks in June and one day (I think it was at DHS) a CM came up to us and asked if she could ask us a few questions. We immediately got smiles on our faces an of course said sure. So the first question was "Where are you from?". And we answered "..., Ontario Canada". She then said "Oh, I'm sorry but this is for US residents only". Hmpf. We were kind of dumbfounded when she said this and we said "Ok" and went on our way. The more I think about it the more it kinda ticks me off that she actually said this.

We kept thinking that maybe it was one of those special magical events but I guess we'll never know because we're not from the USA.

To me, very UN-Disney and I am a big Disney fan.

It was I can assure you => just a survey and not a magical event.

The Year of a Million dreams is open to residents of the US, UK and Canada.

The surveys for residents of the US would be limited in scope primarily because they are seeking information about that segment of the population. Being from Canada means you can't answer things like "Did you spend a stimulus check in part or in whole on this vacation?"

A couple years ago I was approached for a survey at DD and when they learned I was local, they sent me on my way. So don't be so sensitive about it. You didn't miss any free prizes!

On my trip last November, I was stopped at Animal Kingdom and was asked if I wanted to take part in a survey. It was open to everyone, not just U.S. They asked my email address, as there was a 2nd part of the survey which would be emailed to me.

No prizes. Just some friendly CM interaction.
