I found a Disney movie that came out in 1994/95 called Operation Dumbo Drop and I never understood why this movie was even made? From what I saw of Operation Dumbo Drop it looked very unappealing and I can't figure out why Disney even decided to make this movie? Operation Dumbo Drop starred Denis Leary and Doug E. Doug. The only reason I knew about Operation Dumbo Drop was because my uncle and his girlfriend had gotten free tickets to the movie from a friend of my uncle's girlfriend and was gonna give them to Mom and Dad and me but we declined the tickets. Was Operation Dumbo Drop a flop in theaters and was it not liked by critics when it debuted in theaters? What was it actually about? Because from parts I have seen of it some soldiers find an elephant and train it in the Army

I saw parts of Operation Dumbo Drop and I don't know why it was even made in the first place? I'm surprised that it is not on Disney+ because I think Operation Dumbo Drop flopped in theaters

The budget was only $24 million… I say “only” because of most of the high-budget films these days… so, I don’t think it lost money.. domestic box office take was higher than budget

If the budget was 24M and that's about what it made, then it lost money. It has to recover about double the budget to break even. It really neest about 2.5 to be significantly profitable.

Yes… but that’s why I referenced domestic take… not the worldwide… quick google search just says it was a “moderate “ box office success

It doesn't look like it had an international release. Not all movies back then did. The economics were pretty different though too. I jsut remember this not really hitting and getting made fun of a lot too, but mostly jsut due to the name.

Yea… lists international, but same total as domestic… I remember hearing about it, but never watched
