Does anyone know? I had read somewhere that they were running a shortened schedule. Does it close earlier than the rest of the park? I don't want to miss this on our trip. DH is not a fan, so if I go and it's closed, it will be hard to get him back near it again.:) TIA

When I was there at the end of February I believe it was running from 10-6. Definitely ride it becaues once Stitch's Escape opens they'll be sure to shutter this wonderful attraction again.

It was 10-6pm when were there in March and May also...and yes be sure and ride it because when Stitch opens I have a feeling it maybe gone forever....

Thanks for this info. I will definitely make sure we get this in before 6. :)

We'll be going to WDW the end of Nov. ,do you think that it will still be open then? I really hope so, my family and I really love this attraction. My 6 year old grandson, who willl be going in Nov also, sings the words to the tune. Anyone have any idea if ti will still be in operation then? Thanks, Karen

Unless you're going around Thanksgiving when the crowds are heavy, then probably not. Stitch will most likely be open by then and CoP will go back to Seasonal status, meaning they will only open it when the crowds are really really heavy.

I think we should petition for them to keep this attraction open. It is a classic and one that Walt had a big hand in developing.

How do we do that?

I was wondering, what's the reasoning behind having it seasonal? Is there a reason beyond that they're probably trying to get rid of it permanently? :( It doesn't seem like it would require too many CMs. Is it wear and tear, or electricity usage, or what?

I love CoP, and was glad that I could see it in May. :teeth: I hope that they never get rid of it. A campaign to keep it open would be great, although I'm not sure that they'd listen. They don't seem like the listening types right now.

I'll be so sad to see this go! I finally got to see it again this June, after 4 years of it being closed during my visits. My wife got to see it for the first time. She enjoyed it as well, but the big revelation for her was recognizing the song that I've been singing and whistling all these years...

:rolleyes1

The speculation I've read is that there is a lot of maintenance involved. I think I also read that it is hard to get a lot of the parts they need. Add to that low attendance levels, and it's the first choice when they're cutting costs. I love this attraction and the fact that it was designed by Walt. I went on it as many times as I could my last two trips because I go in the off season and seasonal attractions aren't typically open then.

When I was there about 2 weeks ago I believe it was opened all day.... but I could just be seeing things again  :yo-yo:

As we walked onto this, my dh said, "wow, guess this will be gone soon" I thought, how could it? It's such a classic, it's so important to the history and legacy of Walt Disney? Anyway, it was his and my kids first time seeing it and they LOVED it. It actually pleased our very finicky 4yo who wanted to do it again. I should have made a better effort to get back to it -- I didn't realize it could be our last time ever seeing it! Bummer! I walked out of it totally refreshed and relaxed and like it was a totally different day!

Another vote for love this ride. I ride it over and over again while the kids go on Space Mountain. My kids love it and DH calls me every day at work and leaves a little jingle on my VM, most often he sings "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day....."
