Opening Park Hours vs Attraction Hours

Was just on another website's discussion board and was reading that several people who had just returned from a DW vacation stated that the MK opens it's doors at 9 AM but all the lands except for Fantasyland do not open until 10 AM!!! Has anyone else run into this??? So if MK is the Early Entry park, you can be there for 2 hours before most attractions open??? I think that they're hoping people will souvenir shop during that time but it's a rip-off! We are paying full price--the same as the others who go during peak time and we're getting reduced hours but not a reduced price.

Anyways, anyone out there run into this??? If this happen when we go in February I'm most definitely going to complain--it's NOT right!

There is a list on this site and on wdwig.com that lists what attractions are open when they do the EMH. At MK the entire park is not open. We did not run into this the last time we went in Jan. 03 We went to EMH and went right to Buzz and SM.

Thanks, fellow Mainer! Going back and looking at that post, the vacationers just got home last week--so this is recent--and he stated that the attractions that were supposed to be open were not...

I was at WDW last February and used the schedule you suggested. without any problems...

Anyone who's been in the past week or two that ran into this problem???

For the Early Magic Hour you have access to:

Astro Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, it's a small world, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Space Mountain, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority

As for the other areas, Adventureland and Toon Town open at 10am (unless it is a really busy time of year, like Thanksgiving and Christmas then they will open with the park) and some of the less traveled attractions like the Hall of Presidents, the Riverboat and the Timekeeper.

At 9am when the park opens you will be able to get to the Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square, All of Frontierland as well as the rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland that are not listed for the extra hour.

When I went last Oct I didn't realize that Toontown didn't open til 10am and we took the train and arrived around 9:45. When we got off the train there were 5 characters (Timon, Rafiki, Baloo, The Sherif, and Friar Tuck) there and we pretty much had them to ourselves because the only other guests there were from the train as they hadn't dropped the rope yet. I got a great photo of my DD with all 5 characters at once and she had a blast at the playground all by herself and then we saw Mickey and all 3 lines of characters very quickly.

So anyways the delayed opening of Toontown worked for us.

From the list above, Mickey's PhilharMagic is not part of Extra Magic Hour. When does it open usually? 10am?

I just got back and was suprised to see that the train did not run until 10 am

Thanks, you've all been helpful...

I am very disappointed tht Disney doesn't go the extra for its patrons that do say on-site... The extra hours isn't too helpful if you've got older kids...
