Opening Int'l Gateway to see Illumin.?

Hi, we're arriving at the BCV on Thursday night.
Has anyone gone to the Int'l Gateway lately and just walked in at 8:50 to see Illuminations?
We did this several years ago, and it was great.

This seems to be hit or miss. There have been reports that it has been opened and reports that it has not been.

I would think that now that they want to search you bags etc it is less likely to be open.

Well, walked in with a pass.
Maybe during the week Illuminations would not be as crowded and you could find a decent viewing spot by then.
It just depends on how good of a view you want.
