Opening hours question

I haven't been to Disneyland (or World) in several years, but am going to DL in May. They used to open Main Street before the rest of the park, so you could look in the shops, walk around, grab breakfast while you were waiting for the rest of the park to be opened up- do they still do this or do they open the whole thing at once? Also, we are not staying in a Disney hotel, if that makes a difference. Thanks

It depends on when the park opens. If it opens at 8, then when the turnstiles open, so does the entire park. If it's 9 or 10, then they open up the gates 30 minutes before and you can wander up and down Main Street. DCA generally has a 10 am opening and the gates open at 9:30. You can wander around the Sunshine Plaza area through Condor Flats and Soarin' is open at that time.
