Opening Gate Ceremonies

Does anything special happen at the gates when each park opens every day? For example, any little shows or extra character activity? Any fun announcements?

We're going in February, and the one thing we *haven't* done the last few times we went was arrive at any parks at opening. This summer we went to Disneyland, and Mickey was right in the town square welcoming guests. (Fortunately for us, most people blew right past him, running towards rides, and we were able to get a no-line picture with him!)

MK and AK have little shows at opening. Not sure about Epcot, but MGM doesn't really have anything special.

EPCOT doesn't have too much. They open the gates and then hold everyone at Innovations. The CM's from the buildings come out and when the park opens, they lead the crowd to the various pavillions. I think that there were a few characters out also. I actually liked it because the CM's kept the crowd from running ahead. So, it was very nicely controlled and you didn't have to run. I was able to get on one of the first Soaring rides of the day without having to run or worry about being pushed.
