As the song says, The Simpsons was just picked up for four - yes, that is correct - FOUR more seasons, taking them through 2028/29 and an unprecident Season 40! It's incredible. I've been a long-time fan of the show and love how long it has stuck around.

Fox's deal with Disney's 20th Television also included four season pickups for Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and American Dad - bringing the last one back to Network TV after a stint on TBS. Disney gets in-season streaming rights. The new seasons are all 15 episodes each, but that could be suplemented with exclusive episodes fo Disney+ and hulu as they have been doing recently.

I saw in the news recently that original cast member Pamela Hayden (voice of Milhouse and several others) is leaving the show after 35 seasons. Is there any word on whether they will hire another actor, or re-assign her characters to the existing cast?

Well, thanks to modern editing techniques they can use existing footage to continue the series without Millhouse:

From the time The Simpsons were first seen as one minute shorts that appeared on The Tracey Ullman Show little did we know that these shorts would make The Simpsons a mighty superstar hit when they made their debut in 1989. And when The Simpsons debuted FOX knew that they would have a mega hit on their hands. And each time The Simpsons gets renewed for every year I can understand why The Simpsons will NEVER end because it's one of those animated shows that always stands the test of time and has provided some memorable episodes "like the famous episode where Maggie Simpson spoke for the very first time with Elizabeth Taylor providing Maggie's speaking voice" and introducing us to characters like Moe Comic Book Guy Apu and others it's no secret that The Simpsons is one of the most successful animated series of all time and will continue to stay forever. I also collect The Simpsons merchandise and have all their albums books and video games and it goes to show that no other animated series can compete with The Simpsons because it really has a huge fanbase in TV
