** OPENING DAY PRICING 2017 Pt 2 May/September: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

Ship: Fantasy
10 Night Southern Caribbean June 28, 2017
Cat 5B, deck 9
2 Adults $8,462
No insurance/transfers/air
OBB? yes

I have a 10 day Med cruise booked on the Carnival Vista in OCT for me and my two kids. 1,973 for a 230 square foot ocean view with access to the harbor view lounge with concierge service available. I know people on these boards like to bash Carnival, but this is a brand spanking new ship with the first Imax theatre and sky train ride at sea. Honestly for the price of this cruise I could care less if the service ends up being terrible(which I don't think it will). I would cook my own food for this price. It's so hard for me to wrap my brain around some of these prices. There just so much higher than other cruse lines. IMHO the Magic is a nice ship, but it's old.

I've been looking into the Carnival Vista a lot. I'm sure one of the next cruises we book will be on that ship.

No, there isn't always someone to take their place. If that were so, DCL wouldn't need to offer *GT rates, cast member rates, FL resident and military discounts. Rates are this high because there are some people (like you) who are willing to pay their high prices - no matter what. When people stop taking the Disney bait on these high-priced cruises, only then will DCL get the message. Supply and demand is alive and well: Stop the demand, and the prices will drop.

That! Thank you

So is that how it works, the lowest it ever gets is back to the opening day price anyway?
No the Iceland cruise and the British Isles GT rates were 3k below opening day for a family of four. I've booked other cruises with a GT rate that were way below opening rate.

WONDER {blackout dates noted with *}

***GAP IN SCHEDULE - WEST COAST San Diego to Vancouver REPO TBD OR...?***

No pricing info to add, but according to DVC point charts which are available online now, the Wonder is doing a 5 night West Coast Repo cruise commencing 17th May.

Ship: Disney Magic
15 Night EBTA
Cat #11B
1A
Insurance/transfers/air included NO
Total Cost $2978.57

Sorry just realised was meant to say this is onboard booking but my understanding was this gave you a reduced deposit not a cheaper cruise hence forgot to mention

Talked to my TA -- they said that a good percentage of people this time are not even putting the deposits -- they are just saying no to the pricing. I'm one of them. These are the insane pricing we got.
Keep in mind, these are only for 2 adults and DO NOT include OBB, 10%, transfers or insurance:

Norwegian 11-night cruise 6/28 -- 7A Verandah -- $11,016
11-night Southern on Fantasy -- 6/14 -- 7A verandah -- $9,210.56 (for just 2 adults -- yikes)
10 night Southern on Fantasy -- 6/28 -- 7A verandah -- $8,816.04
9-night Alaska 7/24 -- 7A verandah -- $9,942.38
7-night Eastern Caribbean on 9/23 -- 7A Verandah = $3,494.02
15-night Transatlantic in May -- 7A verandah = $5,177

The only one I think is "reasonable" is the T/A because it amounts to about $345/night and that is the only one I told my TA to hold for 24 hours. I'm looking elsewhere for a Norway/Baltic itinerary. I priced them out last year and waited for Disney's quote and should have known after last year that this year would be out of the question. We have a floating deposit on Princess with OBC -- going to just use that one.

To the PP, yes you may see these posts repeated every dang time, but I'm one of the ones who are truly out and have already started pricing other lines. No way I'm paying prices that could equal 2-3 trips for us!

To quote the Sharks (Tank) : I'm out! From 2015 same eastern on the fantasy $ 1200 more??? Nope not for me...

Wow that's alot. I just booked the exact same cruise in the same cabin that we took the same time in September 2015 and it's only $300 higher.

DW and Both DD/DS were excited about 11 days. I prepped DW for about $10-$11k tops..but not $14k. NO can do. We are keeping our April 2017 fantasy for 7 nights. using the same per night avg shoulda been $10528 for this cruise..not $premium they are charging. And it's not the port fees. that's only like $508 total.
