** OPENING DAY PRICING 2017 Pt 2 May/September: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

Talked to my TA -- they said that a good percentage of people this time are not even putting the deposits -- they are just saying no to the pricing. I'm one of them. These are the insane pricing we got.
Keep in mind, these are only for 2 adults and DO NOT include OBB, 10%, transfers or insurance:

Norwegian 11-night cruise 6/28 -- 7A Verandah -- $11,016
11-night Southern on Fantasy -- 6/14 -- 7A verandah -- $9,210.56 (for just 2 adults -- yikes)
10 night Southern on Fantasy -- 6/28 -- 7A verandah -- $8,816.04
9-night Alaska 7/24 -- 7A verandah -- $9,942.38
7-night Eastern Caribbean on 9/23 -- 7A Verandah = $3,494.02
15-night Transatlantic in May -- 7A verandah = $5,177

The only one I think is "reasonable" is the T/A because it amounts to about $345/night and that is the only one I told my TA to hold for 24 hours. I'm looking elsewhere for a Norway/Baltic itinerary. I priced them out last year and waited for Disney's quote and should have known after last year that this year would be out of the question. We have a floating deposit on Princess with OBC -- going to just use that one.

To the PP, yes you may see these posts repeated every dang time, but I'm one of the ones who are truly out and have already started pricing other lines. No way I'm paying prices that could equal 2-3 trips for us!

Both of my European cruises, including the Baltics, have been with HAL. Highly recommend them. They really know those ports.

Yeah, no.

Looks like the Dream on a FL resident discount or GT rate is what I shall do....those prices are insane, especially when you can get a very nice appointed balcony room on either Carnival RC Celebrity or Princess for half the price of an interior room on the "ground deck".

Ofinn, I know you wanted to try the Family Harbour this time around on the Vista...I will too in December...but keep the SPA level cabins in mind if you want to try one of their other newer ships like the Breeze. Their spa balcony's are very nice and the spa is very beautiful and relaxing...highly recommend them.:flower1: You get an upgraded robe (every cabin category, including insides get robes on Carnival), slippers and spa ammenities (Elemis products)...full access to their spas that have aromatherapy showers, large whirlpool, steambaths with your choice of body scrubs included and different sauna rooms, with ceramic lounges overlooking the ocean and a very nice "quiet room"...just something to keep in the back of your mind.

Disney Magic
July 21, 2017 - 7 night (Dover - Barcelona)
2 adults
Cat 5a
NO insurance/transfers/air or OBB
$7513.14

Another comparison for you: we did the Dover -> Barcelona cruise last summer. Our original reservation was a 5C for 2A, 2K for $6676 including OBB. So that would have been about $7400 without OBB. Close, I guess, if you assumed our kids were free. :sad2:

We ended up downgrading to a 9C guarantee, total fare $5063.

The mouse is a greedy little rodent, isn't he. Gone are the days that Mickey was accessible to everyone. Even the parks, at least the ones here in Orlando, have risen their prices and according to corporate, it's to maintain "crowd control".

Maybe prices will stabilize after the fleet expands with their new ships....One can hope, right?

I think the other quotes people asked for are already on here.

I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the 5/28 cruise. The 10 day is double. I did check royals prices also. Royal has an 11 and 12 day Baltic cruises. I could get a balcony for about 8,800. Insides and oceanviews are too small on Royals older ships. The 7 day Royal cruise the same week 5/28 was very close in cost to DCL. A little less, but not enough to switch. I'm going to book the 5/28 cruise. I'm going to keep an eye on the 10 day if it doesn't sell I may hold out for a discount. The price difference between DCL's 7 day and Royals 11 night would more than pay for an extra week in Europe. I would love to spend time in Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
The price of the TA is good I'm just not sure about all the sea days and the time changes. Other than Amsterdam the ports don't look that interesting. It's a lot of time off work without seeing a whole lot. The Alaska cruise is 700.00 more than last year for the same week and same room. The Dover BCN cruise is a crazy price, but cm said it's been popular.

oooo I hope so!!!! I want to keep sailing with the mouse every year, but if the prices continue to climb 10 percent every year. We may not be able to.

This has not been my experience. No excursions on disembarkation day at Port Canaveral. I also checked disembarkation day for a cruise that ends in San Juan, and there is only 1 excursion, from which we'd have to pay for a cab to take us back to the ship from the airport. So we might as well book our own excursion.
Old San Juan is fabulous! You don't need to pay for an excursion there - there's plenty to do on your own. Even a free tram that takes you around town.

Just when I think Disney couldn't surprise me......
DCL actually priced us out for school holiday sailings back in about 2014. The main reason I keep tabs on them these days is to show my husband what a great deal we're getting on other lines! (You think $5000 is a lot for a balcony for four people for seven days in August? Or $6000 for two connecting verandahs in March? Or $6500 for a week in a Haven suite with butler service? Well check out Disney's prices and tell me I'm going overboard!!!)

Ah Disney. It's been fun knowing you, but there are a lot of other fish in the sea. Happy sailing everyone!

Im in CA. Our pass is now $1050 a year!

WHO PAYS 55,000 for a room they are not going to be in in 1/2 the time omg!

There are 2 sea days plus 2 scenic cruising days on this 9-night cruise. I don't have $55k, but if I did this is the Disney cruise for which I'd book that suite. I had the penthouse on the Celebrity Summit once (got it for 1/2 price--don't ask). You actually do spend more time in your cabin when it and its balcony are that large. We only went to the pools if we were really hot, because we had a wrap around balcony with loungers and a jacuzzi...we just kept the water on the jacuzzi as cool as possible. We hosted a cocktail party, which our butler and his friends worked while the self-playing baby grand played in the background. We ate breakfast every morning at our very long dining room table. Seriously, if we were anti-social we could have left the stateroom only to go onto ports and disembark.
