Opening day prices

Trying to get an idea of opening day prices for Alaska at the end of August for 2016 so I can anticipate prices for this year. Cruised last minute end of August 2015 in 5A (2A, 1C) for $6400.

There used to be several opening day prices threads for past years, but I can't recall what they were called.

If I book an inside on opening day, then later upgrade to ocean view or verandah, do I get the rate of the opening day or current price?

I would have assumed current price, but I'm sure I read on here it was the former. Thanks

I think that's great - would make me tempted to book some a speculative inside cabin on release day... just in case ;-)

Can travel agents book on opening day for non-platinum and non-gold clients, or do they have to wait till the following day?

My son and future daughter in law are hoping to book one of the May transatlantic or Panama Canals for their honeymoon, he is gold. Can I book it for him if he is working the morning the dates open? His fiancé is only silver, so I don't know if they will let her do it. I am platinum and will be booking one for us.
