We are going mid august...... with 2 HP fans..... think we will have to brave the queues!

We went in 2010 when the first HP section opened and had to queue for 2 hours just to get in to the HP section which had been blocked off to relieve crowds.
We then queued for over an hour at each other attraction. But my DS, then aged 10, was in heaven!

I was wondering the best way to attack it?? Should we go in via UIO and ride the train into Diagon Alley? Or just get there bloomin' early into US and hope for the best?

We will be staying onsite at Disney, not Universal, so will not have Express passes. We are tossing up the idea of getting those just to ease the burden! Any help greatfully received! lol

Decisions, decisions! lol

See if you can find out first how much if the new Hp you can use express passes. Also as the new Harry potter in IoA is much more open that the original that May we'll help

We went 8 months after the opening of the original HP attractions and the wait times were never under 2 hours. Take a good book to read in the line - the Harry Potter series, perhaps? ;)

Based on experience - either 2 mornings, arrive well before opening and sprint...Or, first thing in the morning and the last hour at night. Even now, Forbidden Journey wait times are around 45 minutes within an hour of the park opening.

well we are doing the old "stay at universal" trick.

That way we will get the express pass, so I know the harry potter rides wont be on it, but if they are the only rides we have to queue on I will be happy

staying onsite will mean early entry at HP even if express does not work at FJ

now, the BIG question will be to see if Diagon Alley gets Early Entry and how.

Having both parks open for early entry, would change quite a few things, since going between parks would require to ride Hogwart's express. So that would make more people in WWoHP:DA and less people in WWoHP:Hogsmead.

TBH I don't know how it would impact crowds.
