DH and I are wondering how many times they can show the the bored President!! We caught him checking his watch earlier!

DH said, "seems like they could sit him by someone that he could talk too because I sure would be bored watching all of that!!"

I giggled when they panned over to W and he was slouched in his chair like he was sitting in a recliner back home. I'm sure it is a long time to sit and look interested, but...

We missed a lot of the opening ceremonies; anyone know if they will rerun them?

Anyone else amused by Carmelo Anthony wearing the "modified beret?" I'm very pleased that Ralph Lauren is on the outfits, but in all earnesty, I wasn't loving the headwear. I do want one of those those jackets!

I cannot WAIT to get there. I take off from NY tomorrow at noon, and don't land until Sunday at noon!

I thought Roots only did the accessories-- hats, scarves, mittens, glasses, etc. ...

I had to go run an errand and by the time I got back they were on to the parade of athletes.

I have been searching all over the internet for video of them but every link has been shut down.

Does anyone know if they will reair the opening ceremonies later tonight ? I was SOO looking forward to seeing this

I laughed at Bob Costas calling the US hats "berets".... The last I recalled those were known as "driving caps".

OK... We are now hosting players from Puerto Rico that are in town for the Little League "Big League" Softball World Series. We're sitting around our TV waiting patiently for PR's turn to march in to the stadium. I look up on-line and see that they are #129 in line. Finally around 10:30 they march in.... NBC shows the athletes for a few seconds, cuts to the President standing to acknowledge them... and NBC cuts away for a Coke commercial. Thanks NBC, you just dissed some fellow countrymen!!!

I think they might be re-running it at 1 a.m. central time. I'm looking at the guide on my TV and it says the Olympics are running again and I don't think its Olympic competition. I'm going to try to stay awake to find out. We missed the beginning as well... didn't get home until the athletes were all parading into the stadium. My kids are percussionists and they really wanted to see the drummers!

I have a Roots Cap and T-Shirt actually, and my sister has a sweatshirt that was the same as the ones they wore in Torino in 06
