Anyone else excited about the Opening Ceremonies tonight?
While I am, as a rule, not fond of China's record on Human Rights and the Environment, I still love the Olympics! I so look forward to it every 2 years.
Is anyone doing anything special this evening? The ceremonies start on TV (tape delayed, I know) in 2 hours at my house. We are having friends over for an "Opening Ceremonies party". We are going to make Chinese food... stir-fry noodles and veggies, beef-and-broccoli, egg rolls, potstickers, etc. and watch the festivities.
(We need an "eating noodles with chopsticks smiley guy!)
This afternoon, the kids and I made Chinese Lanterns out of construction paper to decorate the house, and watched Mulan to get ourselves in the spirit.
Have fun, everyone, and have a great weekend!

Sounds like a perfect start to enjoying the Olympics. I hope you and your friends have a great time!

. Before the people were revealed, my husband and I had even rewound our Tivo and watched in slow motion and had decided it had to be mechanical with computers. That was incredible
