Which Parks have opening ceremonies? Are they on regular opening days only or both regular and EE mornings? Thanks in advance!

Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom have dedicated "shows" to open the park each day. Epcot has an announcement involving the "Characters on Holiday" bus, and Studios has an opening announcement that plays when the park opens.
On EMH days, the shows at MK and DAK are not performed.

EEKK I was told that they did still do the opening celebration on EMH days. Glad you told me otherwise!!!!

We saw the opening ceremony at AK on an EE day in December, however as mentioned above, there was no ceremony at MK on EE day.
I dont know if the AK thing was a fluke or something that has been stopped, but we definitely saw it on an EE day.

I don't know about the other days of the year, but there is a GREAT opening ceremony going on for Star Wars Weekends at MGM. There are Stormtroopers pacing on top of the entrance buildings. They have some battles and rattle off some silly jokes and reveal that the park is under a force field and no one will be allowed in.

They have about a 20 minute skit leading up to the parks entrance where they decide to go ahead and let everyone in assuming that everyone will join the darkside, and not to let any of the superior's know that we were let in.

It's hilarious and definitely worth getting up for if you will be there for the Star Wars Weekends. My entire family got a real kick out of it.

This might sound like a strange question but...

I know that you can watch the Magic Kingdom Opening Ceremonies from outside the entrance gates. On some of our non-park days we've gone over to the Magic Kingdom to watch the show to kick off our day and then moved on to do other things (resort pools / beach / shopping, etc).

I'm wondering if the Animal Kingdom ceremonies take place in the area outside of the gates or if it is inside the park just before entering the oasis?

The ceremony at AK is held in front of the Tree Of Life, so I wouldnt think you could see it outside.

I really want to see the MK opening ceremony, so this is my plan:

Check-out of AKL at 7 AM, check-in to CR by 8 AM. Monorail or walk over to MK for the 9 AM opening show. And then monorail over to Epcot for a 10 AM Storybook Princess Breakfast.

I have no small children, the youngest being 12. Do you think we'd be able to do the hustle and bustle, time -wise?

Thanks!

bump, hoping for a reply, please!!!:D

Keep in mind... you need to be near the front to hear/see all this. We were there for the opening of Epcot and the opening of AK and really couldn't hear a thing... and we could only see the up high stuff (like the top of the doubledecker bus). Also keep in mind we arrived at the gates approx 20-30 minutes before scheduled opening during value season and we were still too far away to hear good...........P

I must be wrong about the DAK opening ceremony.
MK still has an announcement on EMH days, and characters will be in Town Sq... but there is no train and no show on those days.
