Opening Ceremonies and EMH

I was wondering if a park has EMH does the opening ceremony take place at the start of the EMH or at the time the park is open to the general public.

We haven't made it a point to be at the park at opening very often. In fact, I can only remember being at AK once when it opened, but I don't remember a ceremony. So, I'm guessing maybe all the parks don't have "ceremonies". Maybe just MK?

Thanks!

All the parks do some type of fanfare to open the park, but I think (personally) that MK is the most extravegant.

As for when, I know at MK opening ceremonies are done at the initial park opening, so on EMH mornings, it is done at EMH opening time, not regular opening. This is fairly a new addition though, they did not do the opening on EMH at all until a few months ago. Of course on non-EMH mornings it is done just before 9am.

I have never seen an opening ceremony. What does it involve? Is it worth rushing to be there before official opening hours?

I never miss being there before opening, EMH or regular, but not just because of the "Rope Drop Ceremonies"... its because you can do SO MUCH MORE before the throngs of folks (who simply will NOT get up early on vacation, bless their sleepy little hearts) arrive later in the mornings.

The two "big" Rope Drop "cememonies/shows" are now at MK and DAK.
Both are performed during EMH mornings.
Both shows feature Disney characters with "speaking roles".
MK: at the train station (with lots singing and dancing, and a guest family).
DAK: after your cross the bridge from the "Oasis" (no singing, but cute).

Epcot allows guests to "re-group" near Innoventions and CMs "hold" them until scheduled open time, then allow folks to go either way towards Soarin' or Test Track/Mission Space.

MGM allows guests to "re-group" near the Call-Board.
There is a very breif recorded announcement (that "sticks it" to Universal Studios without directly saying so) and then everyone turns RIGHT, and walks quickly to ToT and/or RnRC.

At MK, if you have attended Cindy's Royal Breakfast early, they do have a rope to hold you from FL until "opening time".

At Epcot's International Gateway, there are reports of holding guests at a rope near the UK.

AT Ak- characters come in on a Safari truck and talk to the guests for a moment and then a family counts down with the guests and throws up confetti.

At EPCOT- you start in between the innovantions pavillions against a large rope. Some characters come out to greet guests and then a family of the day drives up in a car from Test Track. Countdown and then rope drop.

AT MGM- it has been awhile but I think they just had a family countdown and throw confetti.

At MK- First the Main Street dancers come up and sing a song and get guests excited about Mickey coming to welcome them. Then the Lille Belle comes up to the train station (due to the fact that she doesn't have side rails on both sides she is no longer used for guests during the day (other than the train tour this is the only time you can see her). She is filled with characters (the fab 5 and other I have seen Alice, white rabbit, pooh characters, mad hatter, ect. on the train. The characters wave to the guests and then the family of the day (who is also riding on the train) get off and countdon and then they trown confetti and streamers come down from the station. Then the rope drops.

There's this fabulous thrilling moment when you can hear the "Casey Junior" music from Dumbo playing and then you know!!! They are coming!!! It's almost time!!! Ahhhh!!!

Alright...you have all inspired me to get my fanny out of the bed a little earlier on our next trip. We've gone to WDW many, many times and have never been there for the rope-drop.

Please someone tell me more about this announcement at MGM. I'd love to know what it says!
