I love reading this every year at this time.... :goodvibes

Alright Ladies, it's that time of the year again. Just a friendly reminder!! Please raise your big toes and repeat after me: (The Open Toed Shoe Pledge)...

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow. I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

If I have been privy to the magic that is Foot Soup, I will share that knowledge and experience with the non-initiated.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $10 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals... Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters.

Good gracious! I hope nobody is that concerned about the tootsies of others. PErhaps I should just toss my sandals out and spare the world.

I don't know. All feet are ugly to me except a baby's and I have NEVER had a pedicure. I do wear sandals on occasion, none are white, to allow my toes to be free after a long winter of being cooped up. My DD has toes that could be fingers but she does shave her toes. For some reason they are very hairy. I don't really care enough to notice what other peope have on their feet unless they are really high, spiky heels and then it is only to wonder how they can possibly walk in those shoes. :lmao:

LMAO.. that is awesome!!

And for those of you that think others don't notice your tootsies , trust me they do even if they shouldn't !

Love this list!!

Just wanted to throw in there that if you choose to get a pedicure make sure the salon is CLEAN and they use CLEAN tools. I sadly won't be able to have a pedicure for at least another 6 months thanks to a pedicure gone bad.

El. Oh. El.

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground...

This. So very wrong. And looks so uncomfortable, to boot.

Oh yes, people really do notice your feet. Some of the "sights" I've seen at WDW will take your appetite. Don't have much money in your food budget while there....just look down at feet in sandals and you won't think of eating. :crazy2: To me, feet and teeth say so much about how clean a person is.

Spoken like a true, fellow, Louisiana gal. :thumbsup2

And I have purposely not painted my toe nails yet because I can't make the time commitment to keep them freshly painted. They are trimmed and well-pedicured right now though.

I think it is so easy for people to neglect their feet. That is why I like to share this list every year with friends, co-workers, etc.

I bet some people don't even REALIZE how bad their feet really are! If I can help just ONE person, I would be a happy woman.

Take off your socks and look down. Like what you see? Take a goooooooooood look. :goodvibes

Of course, I also mean for this list to be taken very light-hearted. It really is all in good fun. I didn't make the list; just simply spreading the word.

*On a side note, I had my first pedicure when I was in my early to mid twenties. Once I had it done, I was absolutely AMAZED. I had no idea my toenails could look so absolutely adorable! It actually changed the way my entire FEET looked. Plus, the entire experience was so relaxing. I loved soaking my feet in the nice hot water.

I won't dare wear open toed shoes unless I have had a recent pedicure....I swear! It would be like walking out of my house naked I think!

I'm sorry, but us long-toed girls get to air our feet out, too. Don't make me respond with a snark about piggy toes... ;)

I love this. I notice sandals, and the feet in them. It really makes such a difference when they're nicely taken care of. The extra effort is worth it.

I had never had a pedicure until I got married, five years ago. Even though I had always taken good care of my feet and kept polish on the toes during the summer months, I was AMAZED by how much better they looked after a pro worked on them!

I can't afford pedis TOO often, but I try to do it once in the winter and at least once every 5-6 weeks in warmer weather.

This is great !:happytv:
A couple of weeks ago I bought a totally cute new pair of sandals, when I showed them to DH He said you wearing those to the party on Saturday?
I'm like Nooooo I haven't had a pedicure yet !!
In the warm months and here that is March to Sept I get mine done every three weeks when I get my nails filled in I'd never go out in public with undone, uncovered toes.

LOL :rotfl:

I can't wait to wear sandals again and be able to paint my toenails.

This most horrific sandal wearing I ever saw is a couple of years ago when I was in line at a food kiosk in Greenfield Village. There was this lady in front of me who was dressed and looked normal accept for the eye magnets (at not in a good way) that was her toe region.

She had yellow , long, and curling toenails that looked like they hadn't been clipped since the Spice Girls were popular. :crazy2: It reminded me of that Jeff Foxworthy joke about "If your toenails are soooooo long that you can swoop down on a lake and catch a trout, say NO to the flip flop!!"

I here by promise to keep my tootsies freshly painted, and to keep those Dollar Store pumice bars on hand for buffing my heels, all summer.

Oh I love open toed shoes and sandals! I keep my tootsies polished all winter never mind all summer too! I love pretty feet:confused3

That's pretty funny!

My hubby can point out a girl wearing OPI Cajun Shrimp color on her toes from a mile away!

I have been getting pedicures since Mardi Gras, I tend to slack off in the winter, but keep my pumice stone handy and manicure set nearby so at least the footsies look pretty till I start every spring. I don't paint my own toes or fingers since I can't make it look as good as the ladies at the spa .

i tried to copy and paste this to my facebook but it is too long !! dern!!! too funny!!
