Hi - I see we all like to share our stories of WDW so here is mine. It won't be very long but I hope you all will enjoy........

The day is July 6, 2001. The second to last day of our first trip to the world with the kids. I, like most of us have pland out the day, we are to have breakfast at the CP with Pooh & his pals at 8am. It is 6am and I am making everyone get up so we can leave our room at ASMo before 7am to get that first bus of the day to MK.

After lot of comlaints about having to get up we get that first bus and arive at the MK by 7:20 (MK opens at 8 on this day.) We are there with just one onter family and a couple of CM looking at us. We are saying to the other family that they must think we are crazy to be here so early.

Getting there so early was the best thing we could have done. The CM come over to us and ask us how we would like to be the Gatekeepers for the day. I felt like I had won the lottery.

This had to be the best thing that could have happened! We get into the park at 7:30, have some photos taken, get some wands and certificates for each DD. We then have to come up witht a password that everyone on ther other side of the gates has to guess before they will open the park. After 10min. the word has been guessed (Eyeore) and they let the people into the park we get some more photos and the first ride of the day on the Firetruck down Main Street rining the bell.

We make it in time for our breakfast at the CP to eat with the gang of the 100 acre woods and enjoy the day.

Well, that is all there is to my story. Short, but a great memory for us. I hope you all enjoyed reading about it. :cheer2: :sunny:

What a nice memory-and welcome to the DIS.

That is so exciting! I aspire to someday be able to hoist my crew out of bed early enough to give this a try. It's tough, because I would never be able to tell them that's what we're shooting for -- the disappointment would be too crushing if it didn't work out.

Thanks for sharing -- that's really magical!
