I know that this ride was a loading-design blunder. But this restriction never makes sense. My understanding is that your child will be in his/her own chair. I for one am not willing to risk that my 4 year old is not going to have a panic attack mid flight and unhook her seatbelt. I have never been on this ride and assume that there must be something in place to make sure kids do wiggle themselves out of their seatbelts. Can someone explain the safety mechanisms to me. I do not want to wait on line only to find out that I would be uncomfortable with the set up. Thanks.

The safety mechanism is a seat belt and a bar that comes down to hold on.
If the child is small, there is a belt in the middle of the seat with a loop that the seat belt goes thru, which makes it hard for a child to wiggle out.

If you don't have a kid who meets the height requirement, get there early in the morning, and you might get a ride. Plus this one doesn't have FOTL, so it really applies to everyone who wants to try it.

One time, the Thrillnetwork.com message board had a meeting, and we did Hulk a couple times, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, then headed to PF and the guard let us pass. But I woudn't count on that during the summer months.

Sometimes if you go first thing in the morning they will let you ride if you don't have a young child with you.

My 3yo went on it last year and I wasn't overly concerned about him getting out of the ride. That type of rides scares me, though. He only wanted to go on it once (translation--he was scared), but does want to go on it again next month.
