Just as you don't discuss your heinous intestinal distress and its results at a nice dinner party, not every topic has to be welcomed in every venue.
If a thread were titled, "Heinous intestinal distress," I'd just pass on by. Most of the when/if/how will cruising start again threads are titled clearly and can be avoided if one doesn't want to enter the discussion.Just as you don't discuss your heinous intestinal distress and its results at a nice dinner party, not every topic has to be welcomed in every venue.
Nobody is changing anybody’s opinion on anything serious.
The discussions I have seen and been part of aren't about changing peoples minds. They are about things like will a vaccine required to cruise, will masks be mandated, will people cruise without a vaccine, will people cruise if masks are mandated, will there be a buffet, what changes are we expecting, etc. If the goal of a thread is to come out with one answer, it is doomed to failure. If it is just an open discussion were all can toss in an opinion on the topic it can be an interesting discussion.
The fact one thread is at 39 pages tells it hasn't gotten too far of the rails.
Not just on here but many other places, what I see are speculations fueled mostly by personal opinion rather than speculations based on what is currently happening. Everybody has become so polarized on everything. Actually, what I think is more than likely happening as with all other things in life is that the loudest are screaming so the ones in the middle can no longer be heard. All you hear are people who think everything should be shut down and the people who think everything should be open while those who think there is middle ground are just sitting there in silence shaking their heads.
Interesting. A Fraternity Brother of mine is a commercial airline pilot based at LAX. He was furloughed for 3 months, got called back 2 weeks ago. He keeps posting photos of empty terminals in Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago, the cities on his route. He says he is carrying very few passengers on his flights, he got called back because there is huge demand for air cargo. From a coworker that flew over the weekend, the plane flight is what it was but one of the terminals was packed and social distancing was non existent.

I was in Phoenix for Spring Training. Flew in Monday March 9, nothing remarkable. What a difference flying home Thursday March 12. People were wiping down their seating areas on the plane with Chlorox wipes. Everything hit the fan in those few days. Our last game on Thursday was rained out 2 hours before MLB canceled Spring Training. That is good for those, this was at Denver. So not sure if they consolidated all the flights into one terminal or if that is one of the only busy airports. I wasn't there but take her word for it. She skipped food because the lines were long and the social distancing was non existent. Guessing if we flew into Atlanta or Fort Lauderdale, it would be a lot less busy than years past, but could be wrong. Busy could be relative, but she said the flight was more comfortable experience than the terminal.
We won't be flying till late 2021 so fingers crossed all is a better new normal then. Being a moderate germaphobe, get sinus infections easily, not sure I could handle an early 2021 flight.

Youth sports (high school too) are all shutdown here.We got lucky as our last cruise was in February. Only one person had a mask on the flight and I believe the only empty seat was next to this lady or was the last to be filled. Times have definitely changed. Just glad our cruise was timed when it was and we can hopefully keep our one cruise a year in tact. From here on out, at least short term we will be wiping down seats too, never done that.
Curious what your role in the TV industry is? You don't need to share of course because I am curious and my guess on your job could be wrong too. I am glad sports are going, gives us some normalcy in these crazy times.
