Dear runDisney,

Remember the meet and greet/run with Jeff Galloway that you organized last year? Can we do it again this year?

Thanks,
Amy

P.S.

Dear runDisney,

My runDisney tech shirt is awesome. I would like the ability to buy more of them.

Dear runDisney,

Please don't offer Marathon Monday this year. Instead of paying for an extra night at a Disney resort hotel, another day's worth of food, a park entrance ticket for my wife, and drinks at every country in Epcot, I'd rather just go home after the races.

Thanks.

Dear runDisney,

Thanks for giving me a goal and inspiring me to actually run a half marathon. Life's never been the same, but I'm definitely not complaining. Whether or not I'll do the full at some point is in the air, but you never know what can happen when you add a bit of Disney Magic and pixie dust...

Steph

Dear Run Disney,

I know I mention this whenever I have the opportunity, but could you please have one of the childcare centers open during races. I would love to bring my daughter down, but leaving a 6 year old in the room by herself isn't a good option.

Dear runDisney,

How about making some compression shirts for sale? And have an option of short sleeved race shirts this year. I cannot wear long sleeved shirts to run in for about 11 1/2 months of the year in Florida.

Also - GREAT idea on the Marathon relay this year!!

Hugs & Kisses,
Jim

Dear RunDisney:

I would like to run the 5K during marathon weekend but $50 for a "fun run" is a bit steep. I'll pay the $50 but I would like an official time.

Dear RunDisney,

I also wish there would be a Timed component of the 5k. Especially at that price.

My suggestion would be that during the registration process, one would tick "Fun Walk", "Fun Run" or "Race", and if "Race" chosen, a drop down box with a few ranges of expected finish times.

So that at the start line area, the Racers were be able to move out fast without having to navigate thru masses of not so fast walkers (I know there are lots of fast walkers, but there will certainly be masses of not so fast walkers to navigate past).

Thank you,

Running in the Fog (nee WalkingintheFog)

 Love it!

Btw, there's no Marathon Monday for 2012 because I'm not planning to buy an AP. If I had an AP, no doubt there would be a Marathon Monday

Dear RunDisney,

I very much enjoy your races, but is there any way to install a husband babysitting service I could drop DH at while I shop at the expo? It would benefit us both - I wouldn't have to here him whine, and you'd benefit by my spending more money! A win-win!!

So you're going to deprive the rest of us of Marathon Monday? Shame on you. ;)

Great idea! Maybe a room with ESPN on nice flat screen TV's and some comfy chairs. Turn on ESPN for my Hubby and he's good for hours. It would also be nice to be able to send all expo purchases back to the resorts so my Hubby doesn't see how much I actually buy at the Expo.

Maybe the WISH team should have a separate meet for all the SOs who aren't into running and the expo. Or maybe just have him hang out by the pool for a few hours and you can come shopping with us!

Sorry  I'll happily accept a donation of an AP ... maybe that would solve the Marathon Monday dilemna :cutie:

I'm obviously missing something... and I'm feeling really dumb for not figuring it out - AP stands for... ???

Love reading the letters, btw. This will by my first Disney race, so YAY!

Thanks, RunDisney, for giving me something to look forward to and work toward. Thanks for getting DD so excited to do a race (we're doing the 5k together, and she and DH will be on the look out for me while I RUN my first half!). She was a "I don't like sweating" kind of kid before, but now, she's ALL about running a Disney race!

Since what I really want to put here would be against board policy I'll steal my Facebook status from the day of the Tinkerbell announcement:

Dear RunDisney,

Please die in a fire.

That is all.

Your friend,

Frank

dear rundisney,

i didn't mean to get knocked up. believe me, i want to run WDW marathon 2012 but just won't be able to. shame on you for not letting me defer for a year but instead making me eat the entry fee. maybe if i hadn't trained for the 2011 princess i wouldn't have gotten in really good shape and i wouldn't have ovulated the week after the race. then i wouldn't have gotten knocked up by accident! so basically it's YOUR FAULT that i can't do the 2012 marathon!!

sorry for the active sex life!

smooches,
nancy

Dear runDisney,

If you're not going to make any of the Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk, and Yacht and Beach club a host resort for the Princess, the least you could do is let those of us staying in any of the 3 to walk through EPCOT to the starting line and from the finish. You do not want me driving at 4am. My eyes may be open but my brain is far from functioning.

Dear RunDisney,

Thank you for being the Gateway Drug into a new fun, healthy, but sometimes pretty expensive habit!

And I'm not talking about WDW visits...that was already a problem
:)

Dear Run Disney,

As you may know, I am not a fan of the women-centered races. If you must do them, however - just drop the pretense. Stop starting the relevant FB posts with "Hey ladies," docking me a corral, charging me the same (but with no age awards, and a shirt that doesn't fit*), and so forth, and then pretend that I am a welcome participant. I'm not, I get it, stop pretending otherwise, and it would be a lot better all around. (BTW - Moms Panel - same thing. A token dad or two on a group named "Moms Panel" should not be construed as being egalitarian or welcomming to anyone who doesn't fit the gender in the group name.)

* BTW - what's up with that? I've run in plenty of smaller races that manage to have women's and men's shirts - why can't you do that for all your races?

Oh, and for the PP who were making the expo posts - the snark in me is betting that, as more women run the half and full in the marathon weekend, eventually it will become another women-centric event, and it won't be an issue anymore. (Random question - when all of the Disney races are women-centered, then will I have had a valid point?)
