Dear British Tourists-

I just want to tell you all what a pleasure the majority of you are. When we went to WDW in Oct, we were a little disappointed that is was a bit more crowded than what we are used to. We found out that many of you and your children have a break at this time, and that's why you were at WDW in droves. As our trip went on, my husband and I both remarked at how polite you and your children were. If we had to be stuck in crowds, we were grateful that it was such a lovely group. We had many opportunities to interact with you at the resort and the parks and restaurants and you made our visit most pleasurable!

Hope to see you next October! :cool1:

Sincerely,
WLL and family

Hear hear! I enjoyed seeing our British cousins at WDW and Universal and look forward to seeing them again next year.

ALthough.. I am still a little P.O.'d about that whole Revolutionary War thing.

we were there in oct,due to the fact, that our grandaughter, had a week off school,at that time,so she only missed 1 week of school.
we had 6 nights in hawaii first, then flew to florida, for 9 nights.
we had an asbsolutely fantastic time,it was priceless to see wdw, through our grandaughters eyes.she had just turned 6,before we left,so you can imagine, what a great time she had.MNSSHP,on the 31st,was also fantastic,so glad we went!
we love your country,as we are always made to feel so welcome,no matter what state we visit,so we should be saying a thank-you,to you.

Dear WLL and family,

It's no problem at all, my dear. Despite rumours to the contrary, not all Brits are lagered up idiotic morons - and those that are tend to go to Tenerife, not Florida.

There are two reasons we're so polite in WDW - 1) our children are (in the main, mind you) brought up to respect their elders and speak only when spoken to, and 2) after experiencing theme parks such as Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, most of the time we're walking around in stunned silence at the magnificence of it all.

So we thank you for you letter, and are glad you enjoyed our company. We hope you can visit us sometime, but be aware that there are some less than salubrious places you may want to stay away from. Wales, for one*.

Besides, it's the Germans and the French that cause all the trouble. Have you BEEN to Disneyland Paris?

Sincerely,

The British Tourists

* all Welsh people please note THIS IS A JOKE. Wales is a lovely place. You know what they say - what's the best thing to come out of Wales? The M4 motorway.**

**ALSO A JOKE.

Well, here here!!!! I have to add a comment to this string of posts. I am from NJ and visit WDW at the end of October for about the past 10 years. The oversea visitors at this time of year is high and UK being one of them. I must say that I just adore meeting and speaking with folks from the UK and that I look forward to it each year actually. I would like to thank our UK friends for taking the time to visit the US and wish to see that more and more. My ancestory is English so I may be a bit partial but you guys rock!

We were there in Oct. and my kids thought we were in Britain because we were so outnumbered, i was worried at first that there was a second British invasion that I was not aware of :goodvibes

I too agree, you are lovely visitors to our country, however i must remind you all that in this country we walk on the RIGHT side of the paths. The first day I couldn't believe how rude the masses were not scooting to the right and going against the grain....then I realized they were all BRITISH!

We love coming to visit Orlando and the US and are always made to feel welcome. In fact we love it so much that we will not visit another country on holiday anymore!

We should probably thank you too for being such good hosts but it makes a nice change that people are complaining about us Brits! :goodvibes

BTW re the walking on the right - we have to remember to drive on the right and that takes a lot of concentration when we are relaxing in the parks we revert to our normal side - sorry :confused3

Thanks for the lovely comments. I love visiting the US, we always find you folks friendly and polite. :sunny:

Please come and visit again! We have had so many wonderful conversations with British guests at the World!
When my niece was 5, we were in line for Buzz behind a British family and she was listening to them chat. She turns to me and says "They talk like they are singing! It's so pretty!" I was a little embarassed because she hadn't yet learned the concept of INDOOR VOICE in the lines, but the family was wonderful about it. They taught her how to say things with a British accent and she ran around the rest of the day using what she learned.

I also heartily agree!
I have posted this a million times but we were at WDW for 2 weeks for a pre-planned trip right after 9/11. The 1st week it was the British. Very polite and courteous. We were in a character line at DS and said to the British family behind us "I really want you to know how much we appreciate your country's support after the terrorist attack". The Dad immediately said "No, problem. We are in this together". I was glad I was wearing sunglasses and he could not see my tears of appreciation.
The next week WDW was invaded by a country that was located much closer to us that was almost a living nightmare.

Canada? Here I thought they were the model of neutrality, they chose the best spot in the world to go on the offensive, I will give you that.

(J/K, in case it wasn't obvious! I love all things Canadian. And I am guessing PP wasn't referring to Canada.)

Nope, think South. Now I have really gone and offended people.
I am going to try to redeem myself by saying it probably was just the contrast from the super nice people we saw the week before.

Well thank you very much. It is always a pleasure for me to visit your wonderful country. Each time I visit I always get talking to some Americans, and they always comment on how much they love our accent. I was talking to one girl once from Chicago who was just asking me to say different words while her and her friends were laughing! I felt like an attraction myself! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: We do travel in numbers. British visitors make us around 40% of all foreign visitors to Walt Disney World. Our little tip is that at any attraction where the ride line splits, we always go to the left hand side, the queue is always shorter! :woohoo:

I agree. I also like when they come visit South FL, where I live. :)

I agree too. Everytime someone said "oh excuse me" last weekend it was with a British accent! We Americans could learn a lesson or two...

I also want to add my thanks to the guests from the UK...always polite, and I also love to hear you speak! Wish we spoke the English language as well as you do! I do have to say though, I have been to WDW during different times of the year, and we have always run into lots of of UK guests at all times! You are always welcome in our country, and please send our thanks to all of your service men and women, and their families, who support our belief in Freedom!
