I was wondering if anyone has experience with or has heard anything about this lens http://www.adorama.com/TM24135PXAF.html I understand it starts at 24mm but I have found that i really dont shoot below that and if I do I use my 10-17mm I am looking for a walk around lens that I can use instead of the 18-55 which doesnt have the reach I am looking for but dont want to get the 18-250 because I already have a 50-200 pentax that I like very much
I know there is alot over overlap so am open to other suggestions that will work with a pentax. The sigma 17-70 has also caught my eye which will give me a little longer reach than the kit but have been reading some bad comments about quality control on sigma lenses:confused3 sorry for the length of the post. and looking forward to comments

Does sigma make a 24-70 f/2.8 for the pentax mount? It is a well thought of lens in the canon market.... Then you have a fast zoom...

They do actually but man it looks like it weighs in at almost a pound and a half lol:lmao: but it is a fixed 2.8 though the range will add this to my list of things to think about. dont think i will decide on my next lens till after i get my latest toy http://www.adorama.com/SG2818DPXAF.html may be here tommorrow

yes, they are big lenses... I have the canon version, thought long and hard about going with the sigma... Deleated Penguin uses the sigma version. Takes a little getting used to, but it is such a great lens, I can't imagine not having it.. I haven't even put the 50mm 1.8 lens on the camera since I got it, the 2.8 has served me for everything I need.

There is a review of that lens here in Canon mount - the optics should be the same so that should give you an idea of what to expect.

I use the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 as my main lens, which I've heard is slightly sharper than the Sigma one (though probably not significantly so) - it is a bit bigger and heavier than a slower lens, but the optics are quite nice and the extra speed is definitely handy!

I'll be interested to see how you like the Sigma 28mm F1.8 that you linked to.

I have the same lens as Groucho but in a Canon mount, I tested the sigma version and felt that the tamron was noticeably sharper at F/2.8 and it is much lighter.
