Open Alchohol and Consumption on Disney Transportation?

They allow people to bring food into the parks. How would you suppose they think most people get it there? Or how do they think people are getting all of those caramel apples, nuts, popcorn and candy back to their rooms? As far as drinks go, I've seen bus drivers tell guests their coffee cups were not allowed when they didn't have lids, but say that if they had a lid it would be allowed. Seems pretty clear.

Also, the signs and the announcement on the buses state no eating or drinking on the bus. They do not tell you you are not allowed to have food on the buses.

There is someone here with their own agenda, and it sure isn't me.:coffee:

Oh come on now. We both know it's silly that everything needs to be spelled out right. Lol. Sure if the coffee has a sealed lid it would be ok. But not one of those sippy lids that let the odors and possible spills out. But people continue to break the rules don't they :rotfl2: to benefit them and pretend they are following the rules based on their feels.

Coffee drinkers have an agenda? What exactly is their agenda? Is there a website? I'd really like to learn more about this coffee drinker agenda.

I've never noticed open alcohol on Disney transportation.

Please point out where in the "No Drinks" rules it says you can have it, you just can't consume it. Unless it is completely sealed and spill proof, (like a screw top bottle of water), it can still spill, annoy, or do the things that made it prohibited in the first place. I think you taking liberties, because perhaps it hasn't always been enforced, but no drinks means no drinks.

Your way of spinning the rules to meet your own personal agenda is the exact behavior I'm talking about. "The rules don't apply to me" mentality.

IT ISN'T ALLOWED!! Get a clue! People just do it anyway and lazy CMs don't enforce the rule (I rarely use the word lazy in conjunction with CM and paused before I used it here, but couldn't think of any other explanation).

Coffee drinkers are often very inconsiderate and think they should be able to go wherever they want, with it in their hands. They just assume everyone is ok with that. They aren't.

Where do you stand on the idea of a guest drinking coffee doctored with something alcoholic, like Bailey's Irish Cream or Sambuca, on a Disney bus? Would that be doubly bad, as it combines two verboten substances? Is it an exponential relationship, so it's four times as bad? Of does the presence of coffee drown out all else?

I keep trying to find the website, or at least the newsletter, but I think it's like the Masons, where one needs to be invited.

I've never noticed open alcohol on Disney transportation.

Sorry, I'll try to be more conspicuous next time.

I've always heard that 2 wrongs make a right. That's what they say, isn't it?

Bottoms up!

...and thanks but I don't use alcohol to relax.

Have you considered it?

Years ago I was pretty uptight, and my husband said, "Have you thought about going back to drinking?" I thought he was kidding, but the next night, when I sat down to dinner, there was a beer at my place at the table. It's funny, because I didn't even realize that there was a problem, but things have been so much better since then.

Well I guess I will get a big portion of sauerkraut and carry it on the bus along with a big Margarita, and a hot fudge sundae. I just won't consume it.

OP, according to this rule interpretation (which I still believe is not the intent of the rule), an open beer is just fine unless they drink it.

For those of you that might take note that not everyone appreciates the smell of coffee (yes Folgers, that's right) or other oderous items into enclosed spaces, it is appreciated

Make sure that your soap/shampoo/deodorant is fragrance free. No perfume and definitely no body spray. Those give me headaches. Not everyone appreciates those smells.

OP, I doubt the CMs worry about someone drinking a beer at 11am, or about drinking a beer while on the monorail. They aren't driving, so what concern is it of yours?

I can't deal with mint or cinnamon (the fake stuff like in gum or candy) so can we ban those while we're at it.

Ugh. Those stupid cinnamon scented pine cones are everywhere right now. I never realized that I could demand that stores stop displaying them.

I have never seen an open alcohol container on the buses or boats. I have many times gotten myself a drink from the BWV and been told to make sure I toss it before getting on the boats. I haven't tried the Bus but I am going to think the same rules apply.

The funny thing is, it isn't a NO Drinks rule. It is a NO Drinking rule. There is a difference! To bad a certain poster doesn't wish to acknowledge that.

As long as it's not directly affecting me, I don't care what others bring on the bus or monorail.

Does anyone know when this month's Coffee Drinkers Who Can Do Whatever They Want meeting is?

A little off topic, but I can not stand the smell of coffee and it drives me crazy that people think it is ok to bring it EVERYWHERE, allowed or not!

I'd be interested to know where coffee is not allowed.

I have coffee with me almost all the time. At home, in the car, and I have a Keurig in my office so that I can drink it at my desk.

There is no reason why coffee shouldn't be allowed anywhere that drinks in general are permitted.

Last time I checked if I am riding in a car with a friend, I am not legally allowed to consume or have open alcohol. If I am on a city bus or city transportation I am not allowed to have or consume open alcohol. I am not sure why people would think it is appropriate on Disney transportation.

I'm in California, and my primary municipal transportation is Caltrain. You can't drink at the caltrain stops (on the platform), but drinking on the train is fine as long as it isn't after 9pm on a game day. In fact, on the way to games, it is not uncommon to see 2-3 people splitting a 12 pack.

In California it's also legal to drink alcohol in a bus, taxi or other hired conveyance - although my local bus system disallows all eating or drinking on the bus, so you can have an open container, but not drink from it.

I've taken partially finished bottles of Coke and the like on the bus. Those don't have an odor so is that OK?

I don't drink coffee but worrying so much about people that do is a bit unusual....

There are plenty of places that state no drinks allowed and people ignore it. Coffee drinkers often seem particularly oblivious that their drink has an odor and people might not like it. Many coffee drinkers are self entitled and think they should be able to carry it EVERYWHERE they go. It is annoying and affects more than just themselves. That's all.

...and thanks but I don't use alcohol to relax.

Maybe it's a good thing you also dont drink coffee.....
