I have had a cruddy year and have had to cancel and rebook twice. As our vacation (finally) is almost here I changed our room from the Beach Club to the Contemporary. I was thinking of the positives of the monorail, closer to dining ADR's, bigger room, and so on and so forth. MY DH is dissapointed now ( even though he O.K.'d it ) because he was really in the Beach Club frame of mind. Of course, there is nothing available with the code for our week at the Beach Club now. Have I screwed up?

I love the Contemporary Resort. Rooms are so spacious. Walking distance to the MK. Monorail to Epcot. I really liked the pools there, too, even though they aren't that fancy.

Wait until you go during warmer weather to go to the Beach Club. Contemporary is perfect for this time of the year!! :thumbsup2
Plus you will be running around a lot less and every DH likes that.

Relax and enjoy your choice! Even my total-non-Disney DH loves the Contemporary and given a choice of all the resorts, picked it for our December trip. We love using the monorail to get to all the restaurants and shops in the Poly and GF. Your transportation to both MK and Epcot becomes easier and the rooms are huge!!! You can also take a boat ride to see the holiday decorations at the Wilderness Lodge (the best in my opinion). And remember, you will have the beautiful castle lights to enjoy - something special this year only! Trying showing DH some of the new castle lights pictures in the Theme Parks and Attractions board; these got DH very interested!

NOt sure when you are going, but please be prepared for the construction going on. We went to Chef Mickeys this past Friday and I was very dissappointed in the Contemporary outer area. They are doing construction and looks like they have a temporary Grab and Go. The Ladies bathroom by the monorail entrance had a lot of broken stalls and was dirty. I was not in a room, so I can't speak to that, I was just very dissappointed with the crazy construction and getting into Chef mickeys was just yucky. Strollers lined up everywhere and very "unmagical". I think the resort offers lots for you to love, but if you prepare yourself for some construction mess, then maybe you won't have any let downs. Hope you enjoy your trip and the Castle really does look pretty! They were also building a Pinnochio display for Christmas with edible stuff. The chefs were working on it so it looked kinda neat! Have fun and save the trip for the Beach Club for next time. I agree that you will love that resort more when you can use that pool. Not sure if you can change you options, but if your DH is looking for beachy, the Grand Floridian was beautiful and didn't cost more than the Contp. We are beachy type so we were glad we choose GF! We are going to try BC next!

You so made the right choice. We stayed at GF this past May and loved being on the monorail. Then we just got back from ASMu and it sucked not having the access to MK we had in MAY. I totally think you guys will love it at the CR.
