I just got a notice that they've charged my card for another membership.

Guess I didn't read the fine print on that and signed myself up for some sort of lifetime membership or something.

I wasn't planning on continuing.

Anyone else?

Seriously? They auto-renewed you without your knowledge? I'm sure you can get them to cancel that if you don't want to continue. That just stinks, though.

I will have to watch my credit card statement to make sure they don't renew it. I enjoyed the magazine but I just don't see the justification on the subscription. Most d23 events are on the west coast and too far away for us. So basically we looked at what we received through the year and it is not worth the money.

Wow - we didn't renew either. I don't think they automatically renewed us. .. I will have to check and see.

I got a postcard with a URL to renew...I haven't noticed any charges...

FYI, there is a new Silver membership option which costs less and is sans magazine...although I'm not sure of the worth of the membership without that unless you can make all the events.

I also received a postcard reminding me to renew which, like you, I am not planning to do. Also, when I logged on to the Disney site last night there was a link for me to renew.

I am wondering if when we first signed up as charter members if was there an option to have them automatically renew memberships? I know other memberships and magazine subscriptions I've signed up for have this option, which I never select. I can't remember if Disney had this option and you may not have noticed it.

Even if they did have this option, they should allow you to cancel and refund your payment. I hope it's not a hassle for you.

I joined D23 on the last day (December 31, 2009) to receive "charter member" status. On the registration/billing pages, I do not recall a box to check or any mention of an auto-renewal program...and I'm quite sure I read through the mice type with resolve. Renewal is a long time away for me; I plan to renew but I'll have to keep an eye on my cc statement to ensure I am only charged once. (Coincidentally, I registered on 12/31/09 and was billed 01/22/10. With the delay, one should to watch his/her cc statement of the month following the anniversary month one joined D23 to ensure your account is in good standing.)
