Oops...forgot to cancel Amazon Prime

I love it for shipping. I love that I don't have to put together a minimum order. Anytime I want something I check amazon first.

I've also made my money back, in credits, by choosing "no rush shipping" you get a $1 credit towards MP3s (and I think videos?) I don't buy MP3s normally, but it's nice to get them this way.

It is also allowable to share your membership (though the people sharing don't get any benefits but shipping). If you have a sister, parent, kid, etc who might want the free faster shipping, it makes it more worth it.

i had a trial that i used to get two random items in the fall. i liked the streaming services but rarely shop online. i can't get things shipped to my home since i live in a city without a doorman, but lugging things home from the office is a pain. i do use my mum's account for streaming now. its perfect but she doens't stream, so my shows don't mess up her preferences. my mum lives in the suburbs and shops for everything on amazon. it is good when you need a random item and don't want to waste time searching stores for things.

I, too, did the free trial and forgot to cancel, haha. So I'm stuck with it, but I purchase things regularly from Amazon so I thought I'd give it a shot. I actually really like it for streaming on my iPad. My current obsession is 'The Good Wife'.

We've been using the Subscribe and Save for a little over a year now. I've found it to save us money, plus we never run out of those things that my family always forgets to put on the list. The biggest savings for us comes from not having to go to the store for little items that always seem to turn into so many other items while I'm in the store, and no child begging for some item while I'm trying to save money.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I have a Moto X and I was able to download the Amazon Shopping app, to scan you just tap the search bar, then tap the Scan It. Way easy.

I have no credit card# saved on Amazon (or any other website) so they can't charge me until I decide if I want to renew

I don't do kindle or streaming. I don't really watch movies or TV very much. I only signed up to get free shipping during the holidays, and stupidly forgot to cancel.

I rarely have things shipped so I guess I'm just one of the rubes who fell for the trial offer and now has to pay .

Maybe I'm overlooking some good perks, though. If you love Prime, tell me how you use it that makes it worthwhile to you!

I don't like it. You can cancel at anytime to get prorated money back.

I love it, I save just on dog food! I paid for dd's, since she got the college student discount, but it's started getting to be a mess with her using my cc to pay for her orders and dh using hers by accident.

Is there a way with the non-student membership to have more than one log on if you wanted to share? I thought I read somewhere there was...

Don't know if you are in a trial period, but I think the fine print says that if you do not cancel before the trial ends they will charge the card payment on file and if there is no payment on file, they will charge the card used when you started the trial.

Whenever I sign up for the free trial, I immediately go to my settings and turnoff the auto renew option. Dh has gotten a refund before when he hadn't used it after the trial.

Admitting my ignorance here, but how do you stream something to your ipad? My dds might use this. If my oldest daughter (who has her own place) wanted to use it to stream something, would she be able to do that without being near my computer? As you see, I'm pretty much in the dark about streaming.

For the iPad you download the Amazon Instant Video app. From there you just log into your Prime account and then you're set. For TV, you can do it many ways- Roku or Blu Ray player that has the Amazon App. I have it on my Tivo. Basically you need something that streams and supports Amazon Instant/Prime video. Of course there's the Amazon Fire Stick as well. Once hooked up to your TV when you click on the Amazon app it will give you a code that you then put into your Amazon account and it will activate it for that device. Anything Prime (free to Prime members) will have the little Prime banner. You can also buy or rent movies and TV as well.

I've had Prime for 2 years, so it's just a yearly renewal. Got in before the $20 increase last year. :)

Thanks! Can I let my daughter use the account to stream things to her TV assuming she has the app?

My DD and DH both stream from my account from different locations and don't seem to have a problem. I think you get a certain amount of devices per account and two streams at a time. Not 100% sure on those numbers but it should be in their FAQs. We've never run into a problem.

I don't have Prime and now free shipping takes forever. They really want to punish those without it. My items ordered on 12/26 just arrived today (1/8). 13 days for shipping is ridiculous. The package was picked up on 12/28 and sat around at different shipping locations for many days en route. The package was scanned 19 times according to the tracking record.

I had to cancel an order earlier this year because they had not shipped the package 5 days after I placed my order. The records said it had not been shipped so it was easy to cancel.

Items ordered through a third party will generally ship the next day, but anything coming from Amazon is delayed.

Don't cancel Prime unless you don't mind a two week wait to get your items.

Remember when things used to come mail order "in 6 to 8 weeks"?

2 weeks isn't so long in that respect. (Not to mention the time you named is just 7 business days. Regular shipping doesn't ship on weekends usually, and New Years Day is a federal holiday. 7 business days isn't really unusual at all, especially for free shipping. Now if it was 14 business days, that would be a lot.)

I work with someone who gets her staples from Amazon, and in the next couple of months I'm going to investigate that for us as well. I do believe it would fit in with our lifestyle.:)

starting to be unhappy with the Prime "2 day shipping". placed an order in November; shipped UPS GROUND from CA, I live in MA there is no way that product would get across country in 2 days. I contacted Amazon and they extended my membership for another month for free.

I ordered a new front door lock set; other one is not working properly. Placed order Tuesday, should have been here yesterday tracking said out for delivery yesterday so my cousin planned to be at my house to install the lock this AM. no delivery yesterday and today tracking says:

In Transit : Delayed

Sorry, your package is delayed because an issue with the carrier.
Original expected delivery date: Thursday, January 8, 2015

Amazon is dropping the ball with the 2 day shipping. Add in all the problems I am having with my Amazon Fire Stick I am really on the fence about renewing my Prime Membership. Have always been a big fan of Amazon but it seems like things are going down hill.

Now I really feel stupid. I checked on streaming TV shows last night, and was surprised to learn that it isn't free. I thought that was one of the perks of Prime membership; didn't realize it only gave you the opportunity to pay for renting or buying movies.

It is free, but only on Prime Streaming shows and movies. Those will have a little blue icon that says "Prime" up in the corner. For a lot of television series you can see the earlier seasons but not the latest.

some of the shows/movies are free with Prime, look for the Prime logo in the top left hand order of the show/movie picture, you can filter by "Prime Eligible"

lots of previous seasons of HBO shows and lots for kids
