have never eaten dinner in Animal kingdom, if you had to pay oop for one restaurant which is worth it. Not sure how spicy the meals are, family is pretty low key on the spice thing.

Table Service -- Yak & Yeti is Asian, Tusker House has some African-inspired items. Both are good. Would do either of them over Rainforest Cafe.

Counter Service -- Flame Tree BBQ is one of the better CS on property.

We like Yak & Yeti for a sit down meal and Flame Tree BBQ for a counter service meal.

We've done Yak & Yeti for dinner once, and it was OK. We'd do it again, but we usually leave AK early (or right at closing), and have a 6:30 rezzie at a resort other than our place. This year, it is our Chef Mickey's night.

If you are concerned about the spiciness, try our option of a hotel restaurant. Maya Grill at CSR is close by. (Well closer than some.) Boatwright's at POR, is good too. Or you could venture forth to a deluxe, and try Ohana at the Poly, or 1900 Park Fare at the GF.

We enjoy yak & yeti...you can special order however you need, and the kids enjoyed their meals as well.

We ususally do the same thing. We will usually make ADR's somewhere else for dinner. Normally, we will do Boma right after the AK, but this past February we tried Cape May for the first time. That was a very good experience. It's nice to be able to explore the different resorts!

If you want to stay inside the park, for TS my family would probably pick Tusker House since we have read such good reviews on it and that way everyone is able to choose exactly what they would like to eat being a buffet. For CS - like others have said, Flame Tree BBQ is very tasty! I just can't stand those birds. They were very aggressive with us in February. Ugh!

Good luck to you! :goodvibes

I say tusker house for some real taste of Afica...its neat to try new foods!! They have a kiddie food section, with nuggets, mac and cheese, pb and j for the picky kids!1 I loved it!!! The one meat they had had a coco crust..ugh...soooo yummmy!!! We were all stuffed when we lef tthere!!!

Flame tree for cs is the best bet!!!:thumbsup2

Since the park closes early (like 5pm) we always hop on a bus and go to the Animal kingdom lodge - eat at Boma - excellent Buffet and take some time and explore the resort there. GO out on the savannah into the viewing areas and watch animals. In fact, after doing this for the past 3 trips - we ended up booking AKL for our next visit!!!!!!

If its an EMH night at AK park you could always take a bus back there though a lot of the park closes even when its EMH night.
