Well my itinerary was planned and perfected, meticulous & fool proof ~ and then this morning a read a great trip report that included a day of slippery fun at Blizzard Beach.

Yikes ~ I forgot about the waterparks!

We are staying at BC ~ will stormalong bay suffice? or should I redo my "work of art" itinerary to include a half day at a Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? Arhhhghh!

Thanx for input,

Ugg..I know how you feel. I may have to switch things around on my awsome itinerary because I have a few EE mornings on there and they may be too crowded. I would try and do Typhoon Lagoon-it is a beautiful park. BB has some fun slides too but TL has Shark Reef!

Will you have an ultimate park hopper or an AP with water park admission? If not, I would stick to stormalong bay. Typhoon Lagoon is awesome, but instead of doing it last Saturday we slept in and saved the $$.

I noticed in your sig that you're staying at WDW for 10 nights. For that duration of a trip I would DEFINITELY include a water park day. We missed the water parks on a recent trip, and then spent a half-day at TL the following trip. We then vowed to never miss the water parks again.

If your trip was only 5 or 6 days, I might have different advise. But for 10 days, I think it's an attraction not to be missed.

Other than the Shark Reef the water parks don't seem very special to me. if you have one near your house I would just go when you are at home. The Disney water parks are nice but not significantly different than any of the other ones. I would recommend focusing on the regular parks which absolutely can't be duplicated.

Glad you asked. I have not been to either water park and I'm taking my first Disney trip in Oct. since I was a kid so I can't tell you how Disney water parks are, but my family are veterans to Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels, TX (voted the best). We go several times a year and can't get enough.
If your family likes to swim and play in the water, I would make an effort to go at least for 3-4 hours. It will be a nice change of pace. We are planning on going to TL one morning and then to MK for the afternoon/evening. Good luck with your schedule.

Stormalong Bay is great but doesnt really compare to
Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Take at least one visit to the water park
Makes a nice break

The wave pool, lazy river and raft rides are great
August will still be hot enough to enjoy the water on a hot day

What I do is -
Go to a park in the morning maybe an ee one
Head for the water park around 11 or 12
They are usually open till 6 or 7
