so yea.....just got word that i could've went to MNSSHP (mickey's not so scary halloween party for all who dont kno) for virtually nothing w/ my sis,bro in law and nephew....unfortunately school gives 68% for everything missed due to unexcused absence... not cool...any thots ? lol

like any test/assignment/etc the teacher doesn't have to let u make it up they automatically fail it. lol

How much would MNSSHP cost? I was considering it but not sure I want to shell out another $225 in tickets. We're doing all the major theme parks and a few of the small ones too I want to do a Halloween thing too and want to know if there is a discount for it.

We;ve been twice. If you buy advance tickets you can get a discount. But there are like 3 or 4 dates where they do not offer a discount -- those dates are closest to actual Halloween. I don't remember the actual prices - but I think it was around $35ish for a child, and $45 for an adult (non-dicounted price). I'm sure the real prices can be found on wdwinfo.com or allearsnet.com.

Send a note to school saying you were sick.
That way it'll be excused and you can make them up.

Wow. But just have someone write you a sick note then make up all the work when you come back.

haha dats wat my mom does or i dont miss anydays of school so when i got on vk im like useing my sick days

I do that, because I can't make up work for unexcused absenses, so I don't tell the teachers where I'm going before hand, then just randomly miss and say that I came down with something.

Ah, gotcha. Our school says that you're supposed to get a '0' on everything missed. In all honesty, at least it is the case here, the teachers probably won't follow through. I would ask for work to do in advance so you're settled before you go.

This is what I did to prepare my kids for missed school days. I wrote a letter to each teacher stating we would be going to "Orlando" and do some educational stuff such as visit Kennedy Space Center, Several Animal Sancutary's and some of the Disney parks too.

I also asked each teacher to please give all tests and assignments that would be due during our trip BEFORE we leave. I let them know we would be very busy and the kids would not have much time to do homework, but they would be writing a journal on a daily basis on the events that have taken place so far.

All the teachers went for it and we're cleared to go. By the way my kids have had a perfect attendance record for the past few years, that may have helped.

Go to the doctor's, explain the situation, maybe he/she will give you the note.

Mine would've. =]

Have one of your parents call you in with a cold. That way it also explains why you have no doctor's note, because when you have a cold most people don't go to the doctor :thumbsup2 .

say its for an appointment. for all they know is could be anything. you dont have to say "...skipping school for disney!" i use sick/appointment at work when i need off for something special.
