I'm in downtown Dallas, on the 45th floor of an office building, looking west and the sky is black. I keep waiting to go home because I don't want to drive in it, but I really need to leave.

Upstate New York.. Whoa! There was just a WICKED gust of wind! Maybe I should turn on the t.v. and see if they're giving any warnings..

David Finfrock says he's never seen so many flood warnings in effect at one time. I think the entire state of Texas is under a flood warning.

I was driving home today and I saw a bunch of dark clouds in the distance...of course they would be in the direction I was driving. All of a sudden I was hit by a wall of water. No, not rain...a literal wall of water. I mean, the wind was blowing so hard that the rain was coming in sideways and it was just like someone was standing in front of your car spraying water at it.

We've been getting rain here constantly for a couple of days. I love how the media is making it seem like it's been going on for 40 days and 40 nights or something. They're like, "It's rained every day this month with the exception of the 4th" This is only the 9th day of the month...it's not like it's been rainng for 30 days.

We just had a nasty one roll through while we were out to dinner. The wind was bad enough so that my street is only clear in one lane most of the way because of all the HUGE branches and limbs. It sounds like another one may be getting ready to hit. The entire state is under sever thunderstorm watches until 10 tonight.

We had tornado warnings today around 2:15pm ... saw a lot of rain and a little thunder, but nothing too terrible.

All clear in the mid-hudson valley here! Just checked the radar and it looks like that system is passing well north of us. Whew!

Yep, the big boomers are here.... I just took the dog out a few minutes ago, came back in to throw a load of laundry in, then saw the flashes....guess the laundry can wait...

My dog REALLY needs to go potty...but she's a big wimp...one little raindrop and she tucks in her tail and heads for drier ground!

Guess I shouldn't complain...next week the flash flood warnings will stop and the fire hazard warnings will begin...

We have two types of weather here in South Texas-drought & flood. Last week they were talking about summer water restrictions. This week, we had flash flooding. I personally had about eight inches at my house in the last two days.
