Oooh, I wanna complain about her so bad!

Greensboro and Winston would shrivel and die if they ever had to deal with actual traffic. The most they get is the occasional rubber neck, even at "rush" hour.

Most of the time I would agree with this but HOLY COW! it took me 45 minutes on Monday night to get from Baptist Hospital to Olive Garden! What is it...like 3 miles? :lmao:

on Jennie....I used to watch wxii when I had to get up early. I dont have to anymore.....THANK GOODNESS!!! I dont know how I have missed her!

There is a local AM station that I listen to for the Dave Ramsey Show--at the top and bottom of the hour, the dj/host or whatever he wishes to be called comes in....

He's a blithering idiot! He cannot do a news, traffic or weather report to save his life!

He'll refer to 9-1-1 as 9-eleven as in "The victim called 9-eleven"

I can't remember his other doozies, but I cringe every time I hear them. The 9-eleven sticks out to me the most b/c in all of my years of listening and watching the news and majoring in a degree that does news production for tv and radio....I've never heard 9-1-1 called that. I'm imagining he does it to save a second of time, but it has an extra syllable for crying out loud.:confused3

I'd call and complain, but I figure he owns the station and is quite unlikely to change his ways or fire himself. But oh--I wish he would.

His last name is sherlock and everytime he says something stupid, I'm always wanting to say "No bleep, sherlock". Something my step-dads over the years said repeatedly any time someone said something stupid or pointed out the obvious.

He drives me batty. All the other anchors, reporters--anywhere on the planet are Walter Cronkhite compared to this bozo.

(Can you tell, he bothers me immensely?:rolleyes1 popcorn::)

Poor Jenny doesn't seem to know how much she is embarrassing herself. I watched a few clips too. Was she really asleep when they cut to her for the traffic report on one of the clips or was that supposed to be funny too?

I watched that clip--there is no way that was anythign but planned. If it was not, then the director has a serious problem for not knowing that the maps were not loaded into the system. They are the backup when the little clicker thing fails and there is no way they would have began a show without maps.

It was a bad attempt at humor.

I wonder how she behaves when there is a very serious accident or serious weather issues and the traffic news becomes...somber.

Usually awkwardly and inappropriately. For a small sample check out her reaction to the kid named Adolf Hitler..watch the guy anchor and how uncomfortable he is with her rant.

That kind of made me laugh. A bit much for a news show though.

It almost seems to me...though quite a stretch of reality....like she is trying to be a Kelly Ripa or something.

Like I said, I'm no Scrooge so I haven't sent my thoughts to the station...don't want to see anybody fired around the holidays.
And again, as much as I dislike Jennie's on-air work, I prefer not to be responsible for anyone's firing, especially since I can just avoid looking at her.
I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that one phone call from you and this person, who apparently has been on the air since 2007, would be fired.
I hate to admit it, but I watched all the clips on Jennie and I laughed and liked her :duck:
She reminds me of the character of Alice from The L Word. Right down to her being full of herself and her smart aleck remarks.

That was the one that made me think of Alice.

She's obviously doing something right because she's still there. The "rap" was less than stellar, but other than that she just seems to be mildly annoying. If calling and complaining would make you feel better, go for it.

Oh. My. God.

What a freaking nightmare.
::yes:: :scared1:

I'm surprised no one has complained of "Mary Hart Syndrome" (named so after a woman claimed to have seizures when hearing Mary Hart's voice).

There's no way I could watch that woman daily...or ever.

It's not a chance I'm willing to take. Having seen first hand, the results of a single phone call when I worked in news...I think I can say accurately that it often just takes one call.

I agree with you that the PTB at the station must think she's doing something right. Maybe she's somebody at the top's niece/daughter/neighbor's kid?

I was flipping channels the other morning when Jenny was talking about her pants were too tight and it was her time of the month. :eek:The other 2 gals about died. I've never watched WXII too much because they focus so heavily on W-S news. I saw a billboard in G-boro that said they were the number 1 newcast in G-boro. I was shocked.

I usually watch Fox 8 or News 2. I like Cindy Farmer and Rosemary but they are on 2 different channels.

Like I said, I'm no Scrooge so I haven't sent my thoughts to the station...don't want to see anybody fired around the holidays. And really, what other job could she possibly be qualified for? I am not sure if there are any royal courts looking for a new court jester.
I seriously doubt that the TV station will fire her because you call and say you don't like her.

They get calls every day from nitwits who don't like this or that person and feel they must alert the TV station to their personal preferences. You'd just be added to the list.

If it will make you feel better than just complaining on the DIS, go ahead and call.

Complaining on the DIS is satisfaction enough. :goodvibes But I appreciate being called a nitwit...Merry Christmas to you too.

Our local traffic guy is like that and I love him! Pete Busch..

One local TV person I do NOT like is M.A. Rosko. She is horrible!!! Just goes to show a pretty face can get you in most doors ;)

:thumbsup2

Ok-just watched the clip about Jennie vs. Hitler baby parents. Wow!
For her to voice an opinion like that on the news-WOW! I am surprised she was not fired that day.
Whew! I am all for free speech but when you are on a local news station I did not think you could do that.
Maybe I am wrong. I did not see the anchor people voicing their opinions like Jennie did.

Maybe not to the level of Jennie, but there is banter where journalists will express an opinion.

Of course the more that is done, the less integrity the newscast will have.

But not too many people place too much credence in a traffic reporter who filled in once for 11 o'clock sports.

There is no prohibition on opinion though, except to the extent the producer, station manager, and owners prohibit it.

I think she is HILARIOUS!!!! The rap was pretty bad but the others were pretty good. I think if she was a guy it would be a okay but since she is an attractive female people are not comfortable with her in your face humor. I say more power to her and I hope she goes far. We need more women like this on t.v.!!!!! So what if she talks about her pants being tight cause its her time of the month......it's life. Get over it!!!! Good for her!!!!
