Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

I did storytellers and unless if you really want the character experience I don't think it's worth it. The food wasn't really anything special and honestly Disneyland quick service probably does better justice if you want something more special than like a hotel buffet.

I would imagine the event is going to sell out soon or close to the first start date, but I really wish Mickey's Halloween Party made a comeback. I never got to experience it when I was younger and I think it theory it just sounds like a superior place to hold the party.

For us character dining is really only for characters not so much the food. But we have usually enjoyed the meals.

What makes you think that? We went to both MNSSHP and OBB the last two years and OBB is, by far, the superior event. We won’t be returning to MNSSHP this year when we visit WDW.

It’s literally the same food you’d find at QS restaurants in DLR :). IMO, the food at DLR (as well as WDW) is good but heavily overrated by Disney fanatics. Storytellers and Goofy’s Kitchen are all about the characters and ambiance - you can get a way better meal for less outside Disney.

I think they mean when the event was held inside DL not DCA.

I went when it was held at DL. Since DL is so big compared to DCA it made it hard to do everything. At OBB you can get everything done easily. My only gripe about OBB is that each year almost all of it is the same as the previous year. Edit to add: but I’m still going🤣

The DL event was far superior, IMO. We even saw Nicholas Cage in costume as we exited Splash!

I preferred the theming at DL. I love Oogie Boogie but aside from him I am not really into Villians. I feel like DL party was more diverse and not dedicated to Villains. We also don’t want the candy but that’s how you have to walk by to see many characters so we do it.

Admittedly I may be confusing the Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom events, but I don’t recall either as having the number of character interactions that OBB has. At the MK event last year, there were only a few characters… it was mostly just treat stations. The big benefit was short waits at most attractions.

I only went to the party at DL once, there were an okay amount of characters from what I can recall but OBB does have more and I think it’s due to them being in the treat trails now. I love that the line moves so quick but also don’t love drive by photos. Give and take I guess. I actually loved how you could step off the trail to interact with De La Cruz. That was our favorite part of the entire night. Monsters after dark is pretty amazing too.

An interaction and photo with Captain Jack Sparrow (the one who looks exactly like Johnny Depp) was probably my favorite DL after hours Halloween interaction.

It’s not that I didn’t like OBB… I had a really fun interaction with Madam Mim a couple years ago where I challenged her to a Wizard’s Dual… but apparently she is not there this year and there may be a dwindling number of Sword in the Stone fans.

Man… that could be a fun live action if they actually did it right…. which I don’t trust them to do. Ok, back on topic….

Having been to OBB twice now…no one in our house feels a need to go back at this point. We are actually flying in on an OBB night in October, but took a slightly later flight because we couldn’t justify $700 for our family of four to attend again. We’ll just pop over to DL since it’s open until midnight….

Jack Sparrow, that would be super fun! We were confused last year as to who Agatha even was, just now I had to google to again remember who she was. I guess when I said Im not much into Villains I may have really meant new Villians. I would be so down for Ursula to be there!

We will probably skip next year especially if it's not much different once again. Although I hope they do change things up and add more.

The Halloween dining looks so amazing. I am a sucker for new outfits. I can only choose one, Goofys Kitchen or Storytellers. Im leaning Storytellers. What do you all think?

Storytellers, especially if you have been to the park last year during Halloweentime. Goofy's used the park outfits from last year. The Storytellers ones for their themed dining were unique.

So what are the chances of our group adding one OBB ticket at the hotel? We are absolutely not expecting to be able to do this but we have one extra person going in our group, half are staying at the GC and half at DH. We all have our tickets for October 2nd and one adult child has decided to go. Has anyone been able to do this in the past?

Ive only always seen myself and on internet posts them having up signs saying sold out of tickets. I hope it works out if you try.

Last year was a complete and total "no can do." In the years before it has been possible, but only a very small amount of tickets and they would not confirm until the morning of that they had availability.

18 of 31 dates now sold out.
- 2 of 7 days in August;
- 6 of 11 days in September;
- 10 of 13 days in October

Most of the remaining dates available are early.
