Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

No doubt demand is down (FOMO) but I also suspect they’re packing the park in.

In 2019, most all attractions were a walk on - otherwise a short wait. Last year, like I mentioned earlier, 60+ minute wait all night for RSR and Guardians.

Probably doesn’t help that they cut most of the entertainment featured in 2019…less for more l!

I am not going this year, I’ve been going consistently since 2016 but with there being no significant changes to the party this year it just doesn’t seem worth it for the cost. I’ll probably do other Halloween events at other parks.

I really preferred the Halloween party at Disneyland but I have a feeling it’ll never go back to that park. Maybe if they change the parade and do more entertainment like WoC I’d reconsider.

I miss it being in Disneyland, too. That was so much fun. We've been going since it was Mickey's Halloween Party in DCA back in probably 2005-ish before it switched to DL, but the best years were in Disneyland. I remember they had fireworks, and the villains parade, and a good night show with all of the villains when people were leaving the park. We used to get bags and bags of candy, which was fun to relive childhood a bit. They even gave out Ghirardelli squares one year near the flag pole/train station. Now it's much more expensive with much fewer offerings as of the last year or so. I hate being a debbie downer, but it is kind of unfortunate.

You are not being a debbie downer -- you are telling the truth. I went to Halloween parties at Disneyland and they were far superior to Oogie Boogie. There is nothing new at OBB this year. Honestly, the Halloween offerings are rather stale and I love Haunted Mansion Holiday with NBC characters but that is getting stale. There is nothing new in the Halloween offerings. Build a NBC attraction in DCA where Halloween and Christmas collide...sorry for the digressions.

I seriously can't believe I got a total of 3 hours sleep last night, making sure I got my tickets, when I could have bought them at any time today 😅

Oh well

I had a feeling that would be the case but FOMO got the best of me. It was like when I waited two hours online to buy AP tickets to Epic Universe and still didn't make it out of the queue. Then I saw if I just called the AP line I could buy them. Ten minutes later I had them. :rotfl::rotfl:

Very interesting to read about how stale Oogie Boogie has become in terms of offerings. It's the same story with MNSSHP in WDW. It's been the same entertainment and characters for YEARS.

I would be very interested in a Halloween party inside Disneyland park if it ever went back there tbh.

OBB is a superior event to MNSSHP. Since most people attend for the festivities, the event was moved to DCA as to not disrupt DL.

I’m surprised WDW hasn’t moved the event to another park. Attendance at the MK takes a noticeable hit the day of MNSSHP (same is true at DCA but since DLR has a larger AP base it’s less noticeable). A MNSSHP at the DAK would be a ton of fun!

I’m curious why so many people seem to have preferred the party at Disneyland.

We like OBB better. We like the interactive treat trails and the longer parade route that makes it easy to find a spot to watch.

We like that Halloween Screams is open for everyone now. We went to the DL party and Halloween Screams was cancelled for wind - huge bummer when that was the only way to see Halloween fireworks for years.

We also like that we can grab a beer at OBB.

We’re local and have Magic Keys, so I guess maybe it’s because we can also do all the DL Halloween stuff anyway, but I like OBB. It’s just gotten very repetitive. They need to add something new if they want us back next year.

I have done this before. But had you gotten sleep for sure the universe would’ve made everyone decide to buy tix and you would’ve missed it.

Yeah, I've heard Oogie Boogie is superior for years so that's why my family is going this year so that we can make a comparison. I still thought it was interesting to hear how similar the problems are with MNSSHP. Like at least Oogie Boogie gets new characters LOL

MK is barely decorated for Halloween too. That's something else we envy over here on the east coast. DL looks way more decorated.

OBB is Disney’s superior Halloween event. My gripe is that they scaled back entertainment from the 2019 event and have packed the park in. Covid cuts I assume, and maybe with slower ticket sales, Disney will reevaluate next year. Nah, I’m just kidding - we know it’ll sell out and nothing will change LOL.

In all seriousness, most of the October MNSSHP dates are now at/over $200 - that’s a steep price to pay for what’s basically treat stations, a parade and a limited number of characters. You can buy a heck a lot of chocolate from Costco for that price….

I am really happy everyone is sick and tired of OBB... am hoping no one shows up on MY DAY :rotfl2:
This will be a one-and- done for me, but I am determined to do all special events before I relinquish my MK (and before I am too old to really enjoy it anymore).
I hope I am not disappointed in the horseman as that's the main thing I want to experience.

Right? I checked late last night and was like do I really need to wait for a minute while you tell me it's my turn? 🤣
Checked this morning and it was a <1 min wait... After yesterday, I thought they would've gotten rid of it already. I guess they are prepared for the mad rush on day 2....
