Oogie boogie dessert party food released

Hmmmm, I've been wondering about this! So being gluten free, it looks like we'll get a rice krispy treat, a "meringue mousse", and some gummi worms. Not quite what I'd call worth the $85 bucks apiece or whatever it was. Maybe they'll sub in something for us. Hope springs eternal.

When I consider the wdw fireworks dessert party at similar price and what we had there vs this, there is no way I’m paying this!!! For me it’s about $195 Canadian for 2 of us! I can afford it, but can’t justify it!! I’m going to wait and see first hand reports tomorrow, and if this is it, I’m canceling!

FWIW we were easily able to get a good parade viewing spot in Hollywoodland with minimal wait at OBB in 2019. We weren't even planning to watch the parade but happened to be in the area when it was about to start so stopped to watch. I'm really not sure the special dessert party is even necessary?

Well this is a bit disappointing… it’s the damn being seated aspect though. I absolutely feel like the food isn’t even remotely worth it and is actually kind of insulting (that easily could toss some grapes or something else on there to add to it a bit).

That said, being in the park from ~9am till 11pm… I enjoy knowing there is a spot for me and sitting down for it without being on the ground…

I don’t mind the walking, I used to park hop like four times a day and rack up the miles, it’s the motionless standing for 30+ minutes after being on my feet all day…

Is it one or two drinks a person? If I can snag two drinks out of it, it’s worth it a little more again (based on Disney prices for drinks!)

I can’t believe they actually added gummy worms as a menu item to list!!!!!!!!! That’s just laughable! Great, have some candy and gummies, but to list as a main menu item is stretching !!

The DCA parade route is almost a mile long from start to finish -- the longest Disney parade route in N. America, according to the Parks Blog. There is good viewing all along that route and it's available until shortly before the parade starts. We also found great viewing with minimal waiting in 2019. And people who did the OBB Dessert Party that year complained about the food offerings and about shoulder kids blocking their view.
Hoping the Dessert Party has improved this year (although that menu doesn't make me optimistic). Looking forward to OBB reviews tomorrow!

Had this booked but yeah definitely not even close to being worth it and I pay for a lot of extras because I enjoy what they usually offer. For example, World of Color dessert party is the ONLY way I could watch WOC , but absolutely love their dessert offering plate they've had , that and seats give me some value to justify. This though..nope.

It's not necessary. In 2019, my friend and I got a seat on the corner wall across from Little Mermaid a few minutes before the parade. I think the parade had already started, but it was far enough away that the lights were still on. That was a party of 2, though. I think if you have a larger group and you want to sit, you'll have to stake your claim a bit earlier.

Same. I have it booked and am going to cancel. There's nothing special about it at all. I'd rather have a fancy drink and cheese plate. I have only watched WOC from the dessert party and it is the only way I plan to ever watch it. I'm actually glad that this looks like such a dud because I can use that money for something else now.

Well I think the menu looks just fine. Really good in fact!
Plus with parade seating.....it's a winner.

Has anyone seen any reviews pop up?
You can search on youtube for Oogie Boogie Dessert Party 2021. It actually looks really nice. I still don't think I am going to keep my reservation. It does come with a fruit plate. It just seems like overall too much of a sugar rush for me when factoring in the drinks. The tables are right on the street by the parade.

I swear I'm a sucker for these an dessert parties..I caved and changed my reservation from 2 , DH doesn't usually like sweets anyway to just me tonight since there was availability still after I cancelled so...I'll review soon.
Disney why can't I quit you.

Would you mind asking if you had a friend do the party that was vegetarian if they would be able to request the gummy worms be replaced with something (anything) else? (Gummy worms 100% have gelatin in them)

Also, very curious about your first hand review if the view lines are good… like if the tables are situated in such a way other “standard” parade watchers couldn’t decide to hang out right in front between you and the parade.

Oh, and finally, could you find out if the drinks are limited to one per-person or two? (Specifically the alcoholic ones, not that I need two, but if they would give someone two, that really goes a long way to justifying that price, Disney drinks are expensive :P )

Sorry for all the “demands,” those are just my pressing questions, lol

Curious about the fruit plate comment… neither the SnapChat “review” or “professional” disneyfood blog review mentioned it…

This is starting to go back into the “of course it’s worth it” if it’s a protected view (CM shooing people away from stopping right in front of the tables) and if there is fruit with the treats…

Ah, the fruit plate appears to be if you have allergies. Makes sense (probably gluten free option, etc).

I’ll say, these early youtube “reviews” are… not that great. A lot of “this is the um… rum drink, can’t remember what it was called… whatever… yum! It’s good!”

Looks overall to be extremely limited… possibly 12 to 18 tables for 24 to maybe 40 guests at each parade? Wish the second row was the high top bar style tables that WOC used…

I cancelled. It was about $195 Canadian for me for the 2 of us. I can find better use for $200 than this. It’s cute and fun and great seats, but I can’t justify $100 each for this!
