Onsite guests go in HP if booked pre 3-25

:goodvibes hoping this is the case as we booked in Feb for the first week of June at RPR!

How do they only let certain people into Potterland?
Will there be a wristband or stamp, or something??

I imagine they will have to show their room keys to be allowed to enter WWoHP.

When you check in you will be given what you need to access the area is what he told me.

I figure it will be your room key.

If it's only open for those who are staying on-site and booked before 3/25 I don't think it'd be the room key. How would they tell the room key apart from someone who booked after 3/25? Personally, I think they'll let all resort guests in, regardless of when they booked. But that's just my opinion.

That is what I think too. One rep said it would be very hard to tell who is who after the park opens for the day. I think it will be early admittance for onsite and package holders...then open for the day for everyone.

I am probably wrong..I just hope that everyone who is going to Universal then gets to experience it if they want. Not just " us" .

I was told to print out my documentation at home proving I booked and paid for the package and then bring that with me to the park. From what I've heard, it sounds like those who booked non-package but on-site prior to the the announcement on March 25th will be given their documentation when they check in to the hotel.

Heard that the Ellen show has a preview of the Potter area on her April 2nd show. Will be def watching!!! :)

I heard Ellen was going to show her Universal trip on her show on both 4/1 and 4/2.

Updated info on getting into HP :

I talked to someone at Universal again and I ( think ) I may know where some of the conflicting info is coming from. The " Universalist" said that because I am booked onsite and I booked before March 25 but after the original packages went on sale I can enter. Universal seems to want to take care of people who booked during that time period. This may explain why some onsite guests are getting told no when they call..they booked before the package went on sale but before March 25. This is the first time I have heard anything about the post vaca package time frame.

However, she said that my room key will gain me early admittance and one fotl per day per attraction in HP. She said that everything should be open. She especially said that The " Neverending " Journey would be open pending tech issues...we both had a laugh over her boo-boo and I said " I wish it would never end, I could live at Hogwarts forever"

Unless the room key is different I would think ALL onsite guests will get in early. Over and over and over she kept telling me that I will be " one of the first" to experience HP ..and I could tell that she was reading from a script. She had much more information and seemed prepared. I could hear papers being rattled like she was looking for answers to my questions.

We talked about the breakfast and if onsite people could reserve now or add it to their stay. She said no to the reservations and then asked why would I want to? She said that while everyone was eating I would have HP to myself ( yeah me and thousands but much better than tens of thousands ) . She said that if you want breakfast you have to walk in and see if they can work you in. She said the breakfast will be jam packed . I decided who needs breakfast there? A poptart and diet coke will do me in the morning .

I'm not sure about that. We booked onsite in January for the first part of June, before the HP packages were available. I was assured via email that we were entitled to the preview before the Grand Opening. And I sent my reservation number in the email, so they verified that.

Ditto.

Here's the essential part of the response I received from a Hard Rock Reservations Manager just 2 days ago.

I do see that you made your reservation well in advance of our Official Grand Opening date announcement. Because of which, you will be included on our guest list to be one of the few guests to experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in its entirety at a special preview. When you check in on the 28th of May at the Hard Rock Hotel you will be provided with the details on how you and your family will enter the preview. Universal Vacations likely will provide additional communication to you prior to your arrival but at this time we do not now when exactly that will be sent out. I do want you to feel confident that you will enjoy the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter for your length of stay along with the many other attractions we offer in Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida. Not to mention the great pools, restaurants and activities for your family at the rockin’ Hard Rock Hotel.

We too booked before the superbowl commercial came out, and the hrh "reservationist" told me a couple of days ago that we would have early entry and a one time per day FOTL to FJ. Counting the days until sipping on butterbeer and pumpkin juice!!!:woohoo:

I booked in early Jan as well and received an email and phone call that we will be allowed to preview WWoHP:thumbsup2

Seems like those of us who booked a room only reservation before Mar25 for dates between May28 to June 18 can take a deep breath and calm down! And start planning the wonderful time we are going to have in the WWoHP. Hopefully our "preview" will consist of more than one fast peek, but even that would be awsome.

for those who received an email response to being allowed into WWOHP on a room only ressie..how long did it take before you received your response? I guess I am getting anxious, I sent one Tuesday and still have not heard back. I did ask specifically if we would have access during our full stay and not just 1 day...we are trying to figure out our other days which may include Kennedy.

ok, I called again since I never received an email response. I was told they could not fiind my email ( but I have an automated EM# saying they DID get my email)anyway, I was told and this was not by management but by a rep, that yes, since I am booked on site we will have limited acces , most likely we will be givin 1 day of our stay (our choice of day) to choose to see WWOHP. As far as what will be up and running, available that day there is no way to say, it was suggested I call a few days before we arrive for an update, and that we will be given instructions/info at check in as to what day to choose for entry, etc.
We also booked on a PIN at a great rate of 125 a night, if we change our dates at all we lose that rate and have to start all over at current rates/availability. So...we are rethinking the whole thing...the uncertainty of it all is taking some of the fun out. I am not feeling well today and I think that is affecting my thought process, but I was REALLY hoping for acces to WWOHP for each day we are on-site, since we know it will be in different stages each day, better shot at seeing everything there.

Right there with you finfan! Hoping that it's every day too, but surely in early June there will be soft openings. Never been there for a soft opening for anything, but keeping all the fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone!!! Have a blast!!:cool1:
