It's FP DAY (WHOOP!!!) for me as we're checking into AoA on 10/31 and staying three nights. I thought I read somewhere that guests are able to book fastpasses up to 60 days in advance of the check in date, and for 10 days out from then, all at once. We are moving offsite for an additional week after AoA and plan to spend a few of those days at the parks as well. I was going to make FP+ reservations today for those park days when we stay offsite using this loophole.

However, the dates available for FP+ selections only extended to our check out date, and not for ten days out like I thought they would. Did Disney recently close this loophole, or am I missing something...??? Looks like I'll have to wait and book those dates one day at a time next month!

No, it's only ever been for as many days as your onsite resort stay lasts. It's never been 10 days for everyone. This is why people with longer onsite stays can typically get better FPs than people with shorter onsite stays.

It's always 60 days out plus the length of your on site resort stay. So for you it would be 63 days out

Since the off site portion of your trip is after the onsite portion, you'll be able to book the fastpasses for those days at 60 days out from each of those days.

From the FP FAQ:
Onsite Stay followed by Offsite Stay
  • Onsite Package Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite package stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite package stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite package checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort.
  • Onsite RO Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite RO Stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite RO stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite RO checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort. This assumes valid tickets are linked to the MDX account.

I don't get the "rolling forward" terminology. "Checkout day" is the same as when "the guest checks out of the onsite resort", right? If not, what's the difference? What is "additional" beyond the 60+number of days of your onsite stay?

For any onsite stay, the window continually rolls forward. So, even when in your onsite resort, you still have an open 60 day window...nice if you are returning within 60 days and staying offsite or have an AP.

The window only stops rolling when you checkout of your resort.

I feel like the title of this thread is a little misleading. There is no loophole. This is a straightforward benefit of staying onsite.
The OP mistakenly thought there was a loophole, that he/she could do a short 3-night onsite stay, yet still get 10 full days of advance FPs in addition to the 60 days, even though he/she was offsite for most of those 10 days.

That would be a loophole if it existed, but as we all explained to the OP, it doesn't.

I see. I live halfway across the country & only visit about once per year, so that never even occurred to me.

Isn't this what the OP is describing?

Sorry, I'm really not getting this for some reason
Split stay for the OP: onsite and immediately move to offsite. Window rolls and @Alesia explained that 60 days out from each offsite park day, FPs can be booked.

A 60 day open window when you are in your onsite room is also good for FPs for another future stay as in most people don’t move offsite for a 60-day stay.

Yes. Closing because of misleading title and @mesaboy2 has the Split Stay section in the FP FAQ and @Alesia has explained how to book for the offsite days when the window immediately begins rolling forward after its initial opening.
