I will save 75 if I buy my tickets from undercovertourist rather than a package. Will that be more of a hassle ? will I be able to schedule FP plus before arriving? Would like to save $ but not have more trouble dealing with the new system. I assume we would get magic bands for the room ressie? So confused lol

Many have reported no trouble linking UT tickets into MDE and prebooking FPs. :thumbsup2

If you have enough time before you go, then UT is fine. It just takes a little while to get them, and you can't add them to your reservation until you have them. If your trip dates are already very close, it may make more sense to get them faster.

Another option for getting discount tickets is maybe AAA. If you need them quickly, but want a small discount, that could be an option.

The only downside with UT type tickets is that modifying them later can be a huge hassle! My advice is that if there is any chance you'll want to upgrade your tickets- buy them through WDW. (add hopping, add days, change to AP's) The paltry savings is not worth the hassle.

I've gotten UT tickets in the past and plan on getting them for my upcoming trip in August. We leave Aug. 21 so I plan on ordering my UT tickets by 1st week of June. In past I have gotten my UT tickets by mail within a week. This way I can link them to MDE within the 60-day window if I want to make FP+ selections.

Prior to MB I didn't have problems adding my UT tickets to my KTTW cards. Not sure about Magic band, but I think it should be fine...

As far as Magic Bands..upon linking my room reservation I got option on MDE to customize my bands. I was told I had until July 21 to do so. I figure then they will mail the them around July 21 if I customize, if not the grey ones will be waiting for me at the resort.

I like buying from UT and saving money is saving money. When I buy I make sure I know what I want (how may days and what options) so I don't have to worry about upgrading if I change my mind.

It is not always that simple.

For us, we had to shorten our most recent Disney trip unexpectedly. Instead of losing out...we upgraded our tickets to AP's, and booked a bounceback trip!

Another time, my dad got sick early in the trip (used three of seven day ticket). No expire is not now a great deal, back then it was. It wasn't ideal, but we were able to recoup some of the loss by converting his seven day expiring ticket to a no-expire ten day ticket. At the time, converting to ten day no-expire was less than the cost of a new seven day ticket.

In my mind, being able to convert ones' tickets is a bit like having trip insurance. It is why I also always pay close attention to cancelation policies. A friendly cancelation policy is hassle free trip insurance! (Go SWA!)

Mind, I'm not above using discounts! I'm just careful to weigh my options.

I bought tickets from UT on 1/13, had in hand by 1/20/14. Linked to MDE with no problem and booked FP+. I also ended up upgrading and adding 1 dy to those UT 5day park hoppers when our plans changed. I was not concerned with the 60 days out on FP+ or I would have/could have bought earlier. I dislike having to decide here I will be at what time on my vacation 60 days in advance, but that is me. I did end up scheduling FP+ for every day, except the day I ended up adding at the gate. It was not difficult at all & I had almost $100 in savings.
