Only want to rent for 2 days while at WDW

I'm not exactly sure of our itin. yet, but I think we'll be renting a car for maybe 2 days of our WDW stay. We won't be renting from the airport, but rather a few days after we begin our vaca (want to see my old house in Clearwater, may be go to Sea World.)

Could you tell me the location of the Car Care Center? Is that what it's called at the Dolphin? It looks like the CCC provides a pick up shuttle service to take you to them, but if also dropping off at the CCC does the shuttle take you back to your hotel?

From Mary's site, it looks like she recommends National and I should probably sign up to be part of the Emerald aisle thingy - yes?

Any opinions/advice would be most welcome as I'm sure you can tell, I've never rented a car before. . . . . .

The Disney Car Care Center is located outside of the MK parking lot area. The car rental agency is National.

There is a National car rental counter located inside of the Dolphin Resort.

Both locations have different hours that they are open.

Your best bet is to go to the National car rental website and you will find most of your answers there.

i recently heard on these boards that alamo is also onsite at wdw (at dolphin and car care center)

We re doing the same thing next week. We are picking up our ental at the Dolphin. We'll be at the BC so it will be a short walk. Rate was reasonable too.

We were staying onsite 10 days & I didn't want to have a car just sitting in the lot. So I reserved a car from Alamo at the car care center for our 3 Universal/Sea World days. It was very easy & had no problems. The car care center is actually inside the MK parking ticket gates, just stay on the left side of the road and you'll see the exit. There is a gas station there too, right beside it. Alamo has a shuttle that will come get you at the hotel, just call 1 hour prior to pickup. They will also take you back to the hotel when you return the car. I will definitely do this again.

Thanks for your replies - I'll certainly look into Alamo. But, is the CCC an easy walk after you get off the bus at MK?

No.

The WDW buses let you off at the entrance to Magic Kingdom.

The CCC is located outside of the MK parking lots, very far away from where they let you off at MK.
