Because we do have club level, we will probably eat something small there and have ressies for later in the evenings--8+ most nights. On two of the nights, we have b-day cakes being delivered.

We don't want to end up looking like the Titanic and feeling overstuffed and was wondering how irritated they would be if you just ordered appetizers or salads or even split meals.

There are 2 teens and 2 adults and we will not be eating dessert normally because of food allergies. (excluding the special cakes that Disney is making)

Is splitting even allowed?

And we have TS for all 8 nights of our stay, the places I'm worried about are: Narcoosee's, GF Cafe, California Grill, Coral Reef.

The others like 'Ohana, Teppan Edo, Dining w/ Imagineer will definitely be meals.

When I travel with my mom, we split meals a lot. Especially when dining at places like Tony's Town Square. We split a salad to start and then split an entree -- usually the spaghetti w/ meatballs because it is HUGE! When I travel w/ my DH we don't split that often because he is a guy with a big appetite (he eats a LOT - and never gains a pound...isn't that lovely).

Splitting is definitely ok in WDW. We eat at signature restaurants every night, and like you, we have club level and our favorite part of the day for snacks is the 5-7 pm hour, so by dinner at 8:30, we are hungry but not THAT hungry. At home, I rarely split meals because I like having the leftovers to bring to lunch at work, but on vacation, leftovers go to waste, so my mom and I split an entree almost every night. We usually get an appetizer or two for the table, so with that, splitting the entree is more than enough. And what I love about WDW is that all the restaurants (at least the dozen or so signature ones I've been to) split the meal in the kitchen for you, and bring you each your own portioned plate, without even having to ask! I really like that, because often times at home you have to either request that, or some restaurants don't do that and they bring you an annoying empty plate where you have to split it up yourself, and we also even have some restaurants that charge you to split. WDW (as of my May 2009 trip) does not charge you to split and prepares it split for you without asking, which is really nice.

Oh wow, that is nice:thumbsup2 When we were at Myrtle Beach last year, it was cheaper to order 2 meals than 2 split one. No wonder we have an obesity problem in the U.S.

My husband and I split one meal last trip. I wasn't sure if it would be ok since we were on the dining plan, but they did it no problems. Very happy about this, and will remember for next time.
