we have DD turning 12 right before the cruise. If registered for the Edge, will she be able to attend any activities in the lab? What have other parents of a 12 year old chosen? Tia

Not sure about all this.

I do know that you can take her to the Lab during "Open House" hours.

A 12 year old may attend both the Lab and Edge. Time was they had to choose one or the other, and only one change was allowed. That's not how it is now.

For the Lab she will need to wear the Oceaneer's band, but for Edge all she has is a sticker on her KTTW card.

12 is such a great age with regard to the clubs! My girls loved being able to choose:love:

Can someone remind me of the ages again? I will have a 10, 11, 14, and 15. I know the 15 is in the teens....assume the 14 too? Is 10 & 11 in kids club or tween?

Oceaneers Club/Lab ages 3-12
Edge age 11-14
Vibe ages 14-17

Kids in an "overlap" age (11-12 and 14) may come and go from both spaces for which they qualify.

So in your case:
The 10 yr old goes to the Club/Lab
The 11 yr old may attend the Club/Lab and/or Edge
The 14 yr old may attend Edge and/or Vibe
The 15 yr old goes to Vibe

Enjoy your cruise!

10 is the club, but sometimes can go to Edge depending on how close to 11 the child is and whether the Edge is full or not. 11 can choose between club or Edge and can go back and forth. 14 can choose between Edge or Vibe, not sure about going between because the Vibe has a special key card. 15 is Vibe.

This is the correct info. :) My daughter at 12 still loved the Club/Lab as there were more activities to choose from and the space is much larger.

Thank you guys!!! I appreciate the info. My kids have typically only gone to the clubs for certain activities (and not just hang out for long amounts of time), so the flexibility for at least 2 of my kids will be great!

How do the kids become registered for the clubs they want to go to? Do you sign them up on the first day by going to the clubs with them? Mine are 11 and 12, and both are having birthdays this month.

We registered our twelve year old for oceaneers/lab because he wanted to do the Marvel activities with his younger sisters. He liked the Marvel activities and when they concluded he would check himself out and head to edge (letting us know where he was). There's no pre-registration for edge. He enjoyed the freedom to participate in both.

Very glad to see this info! My boys will be 5, 10, and 12. And I just recently read in the Unofficial Guide to the Disney Cruise (2016 version yet) something about having to pick one or the other (Club/Lab or Edge). I'm glad that was incorrect and that my 12 year old will be able to switch between the 2 depending on activities / interests / comfort level / and his brothers.
