"only idiots" disagree with Kerry's healthcare plan

So....when she was a Republican and saying things like this,
it wasn't a problem? I doubt very much her style has changed.

As a Senator's wife, she was NOT in the limelight. As the Democratic Presidential Candidate's wife, she is-- and, her lowbrow crass remarks are disturbing.

imo

I think a point that is missed here is that the wife of someone is a choice and shows what their choices are. It's funny all those who think that if Kerry is elected, everything will be much smoother. Yet his wife seems to be saying that aint so. Is he going to ignore her for 4 years? Or will her "Department of Wellness" take hold?

I believe that one of the reasons Clinton was elected the first time around, one of the reasons he was able to become the Democratic nominee was due to Hillary Clinton and her "I'm not just standing by my man" interview. That was very powerful, and showed America what it wanted to see in a 1st couple.

I believe that the wife of the person who is elected President isn't the only reason for the election, but does play a part.

Also, birdiesunshine, you are missing a point. Laura Bush really is a lady - she comes across as such to almost everyone who sees her, even on TV. Hillary Clinton was, is and always will be a political animal. Laura Bush did not seek out the public admiration, she did not seek public office. Hillary Clinton used her husband to get elected to the Senate. Everyone talks about how women should be treated the same as men, that they have the same qualifications. This makes Hillary a "combatant" in the field of politics, by her own choice. To make pot shots at a "combatant" is fair game, to take shots at a "civilian", especially one like Laura Bush is, in my opinion, just wrong.

From all the boards and all the threads, you are the first Kerry supporter that I have seen, admit that something was not perfect!

ITA with you, and even though I'm a President Bush supporter, most of you have probably seen where I too find something wrong or amazingly funny about my candidate or team.

Thank you again Mal for a breath of fresh air from the opposing team!

Tony

Well, I'm not crazy about Teresa Heinz-Kerry either. She reminds me of that person who corners you at a party, talks to you for an hour, and when she leaves, you still can't figure out what she was talking about.

Btw, I didn't like Hillary either. I didn't fine her particularly intelligent. She was utterly incompetent and had the political instincts of a stone.

Oh, I don't know. I think it's about as productive as starting threads griping about the wives or children or 4th cousins of political candidates.

Get off the moral high horse. You're a firm Bush supporter who's hunting desperately for something to slam him on. Apparently you're having a tough time so starting in on the wife is the next best thing.

Have you ever noticed how these "family values" Republicans love to go after the wives or the children?

Weeeelll, since the post which you quoted was in response to me, I'm going to assume you're referring to me. I'm not a Republican and I probably have never used the term "family values" in a political debate.

Furthermore, I didn't "go after" her. I merely pointed out that her rude and brash manner is a liability to the Kerry camp. I didn't call her any names or denigrate her character. In fact. I conceded that she is an intelligent, educated, bold woman. Really. :D

Can anyone imagine that piece of work our First Lady!!??

What a disgrace. Gold digger to First Lady..."Mama T"-as we call her here in the Republic of Massachusetts-her first husband (a Republican) must be rolling over in his grave seeing what his money is being spent on!

Don't mind me. I'm just pissy tonight.

Three hurricanes in one month will do that to you. :)

Well I am definitely not a family values Republican but I believe she is becoming a liability to the Kerry campaign. Why take the chance of alienating anyone, especially the idiots?;)

Now this is a first. I think it's the first political post that I agree with you 100%.

Be well and save from Ivan.

Welcome to the dark side.

And thanks for the good wishes. We've started boarding up the windows and getting the candles and water supplies. Yanno, we're old hands at this now. ;)

We'll be fine.

So, let me be the first person to say how refreshing it is to see all these Bush supporters admitting that they are idiots.;)
