Don't know whether I should laugh or cry!;) It's in the 20s here - and we got a couple more inches of snow during the night, had a 2 hour school delay - 17.5 yr. old DD proceeds to head out to school in a miniskirt and 5 inch platform SANDALS with no panty hose! To be honest - I was so floored by the lack of hose and the use of sandals, that I didn't check to see what type of coat she had on!!

When I asked her what she would do if she got her car stuck in the ditch, her reply was:

1) I have a cell phone, I'll call you.
2) Dan (her 14.5 yr. old brother) is with me and maybe could get the car out of the ditch
3) I have jazz dance shoes and socks in the back seat. (Yeah, those thin, leather dance shoes should really do the trick, honey!! )

And she wonders why my hair is rapidly turning gray!!!;)

LOL, how did it ever get UNcool to dress for the weather??? :)
It wasn't "cool" when I went to school either.

Yeah, but Serena, when I was in HS, my "rebellion" was to not wear a hat or boots! Ohhhhh, I was a bad one!;)

I felt like telling her that if she called me on her cell, she would have to wait until I showered, dressed, made my bed, finished my Pepsi, and styled my hair before I could come and rescue her!

Run, Shannon, don't look back - just take off running like the wind for the hills!!!!!!!!!!!

(And yes, my DD was this strong-willed from the moment she was born - sounds like you are in for much of what I am dealing with!)

Jeez, I hear you. My dd was a fashion plate in h.s. no matter what the weather.

There's hope for you!!

My dd is a freshman in college (just turned l9). She has to walk approx 3 miles a day back and forth to college across a bridge over the Mississippi.

Now, she's wearing boots, , mittens, columbia winter parka and cap/scarf. Scarves are really in this year!

How things have changed! LOL

Pam, I don't know where to run where she won't find me.;)

My dd is VERY head strong. I tell her and my ds the only person that is more stubborn than they are is ME.:p

Ahhh Pam, the joys of parenthood....actually, sounds like she had things well thought out.......;) :p

herc,
Well, there's hope -but with her, I'm not holding my breath!!:( She's a Princess, if there ever was one!

Shannon,
I tell her and my ds the only person that is more stubborn than they are is ME.

DD and I have locked horns since she was about 1.5 yrs. old! I remember her being 2 and putting her hands on her hips and saying, "You're not my boss!" DH has always said that the problem is that both of us think we're 21 - he's been saying that for around 12 years.:o Now she's almost 18 and I'm almost 42!
