Only complaint: trash in hallways

I'm embarrassed to have housekeeping take my trash out for me at all, never mind leaving it sitting in the hall outside the door  I agree something needs to be done, but to fine the owners or hotel guests who practice this wouldn't work either .... what if they placed their bag outside MY door? I don't want to be fined for their rude behavior.

We stayed at BLT earlier this month in the north crescent.........as soon as we got off the north bank of elevators and turned left toward the hallways there was signage for room numbers and also trash room........it was very visible.....at least at BLT. I do remember the first time we stayed at SSR, however, we couldn't find it (I think we were assuming there was one on each floor like at VWL) and had to call and ask. We were told there is only one in each building at SSR on the ground floor. I also think a lot of newer members aren't even aware they should take their trash out........and just wait for T&T day. It really should be addressed upon check-in.......whether verbally, in the check-in packet, or a placard left on the table or kitchen counter. It may even help housekeeping time management on both T&T day and check-out day.....as I said in my earlier post we take our kitchen bags out every morning on our way out and I also empty and take ALL the trash out on our checkout day, along with gathering all the towels and putting them all together in the whirlpool tub......a simple thing .....but housekeeping then just needs to pick up one pile rather than gather single towels from each bath.

@ Kidani there is a trash room on the 2nd floor right around the corner from the elevators closest to the lobby and I know there has to be more than just this one.

We found that one but it was locked? Do you have to call someone before or is there another one. It was never a big deal since we did not make that much trash since we were rarely in the room we just wanted to know where it was and we never found one that was open.

Not to hijack this thread but I have a question for our upcoming stay.

We usually accumulate a good bit of trash throughout a day, especially w/ both the boys being in diapers. Are there trash chutes or what can I do to throw the trash out myself at BLT. Thanks for any help!
There are trash rooms on each floor near the center elevators. We stayed on the 9th floor and the trash room was on the left just past those elevators.

I don't understand why people aren't throwing it out themselves? We've stayed at all resorts, and continue to see countless bags of trash, diapers, trays, etc. left in hallways. Imagine this! We throw out our own trash - we ALWAYS walk our diapers to nearest trash can, and come back to villa and wash hands. We never leave stuff in hallway - it's messy, disgusting and could be unsafe. I think many DVCers are irritated that there isn't full daily housekeeping like if staying on cash, so they leave out lots of gargabe. Or, guests don't know, and again, they should since it's plainly spelled out in our catalogues, website, upon check-in, etc. Anyway, it's amazing to us the amounts of garbage that some people generate - on a related note, we also majorly recycle as well.

Now, in all fairness, studio garbage cans are very small, and there aren't many in the villa, so I can understand them filling up quickly. If that's the case, again, just empty your own garbage. We've had big toy packages that we've opened for kids, and unless we know that mousekeeping is coming in that day, we've only left them a few times as we've forgotten about them as we were on our way out of villa.

We pretty much leave our villa as good as it looks when we enter it - we keep it very clean, and in fact, sometimes even for our 2 week stays, we don't have any full cleanings. We get sheets/towels changed, garbages emptied (if need be) and toilets cleaned, and that's pretty much it. We even do our own cleaning of sinks, toilets and vacuuming on a regular basis while in our villa. It's important for kids to see that we are cleaning up our own messes, IMHO. I understand we are in the minority, but we subscribe to the theory that if we make a mess, we clean our mess!!!
