I jumped on a good deal for our late April/early May trip, but only booked THE RETURN TRIP!!
I've never done this before, and I am second guessing myself!
Anyone else do this?

I am flexible on my departure, and I will wait to book that one ( maybe a ding fare!)but coming home, I wanted it to be Sunday, and AIRTRAN had a $72.00 fare ( for all 6 of us) in MAY , and it was SUNDAY!!! and I just couldn't resist.
Sunday's are usually more , right?
Oh man... what did I do.

Oh, and that would be NON-Stop flight too, to Buffalo!(from Orlando, of course!)

You're not crazy! I do that a lot - let's see... not for my December LAS trip, because when I checked the prices on JetBlue the best price was two flights a week apart, so (unusual for me) I booked a round-trip itinerary!

But I'm going to Disney in September; my departure was flexible, but my return was based on a combination of DVC points and not wanting to change resorts twice - so I booked my return flight in April and my departure flight in June.

And last trip to Las Vegas, same thing - I knew when I wanted/had to come home, but again my departure was flexible. Good thing, too, since by waiting I was able to come in a day early and see a comedian I REALLY wanted to see!

I do it all the time too. I'll tell you though, it was hard to get used to. I used to be the girl who trotted down to my neighborhood travel agent and had them make my flight plans. Then, I got really brave and did it myself online. Then....a few years ago, when airfares started doing funky stuff, I started booking each way...one at a time. I now fly down on one carrier and home on another. I do have my favorite airlines and try to fly those 2, maybe 3, consistently. But each trip can be a combination of any two.

I did it last year for the first time. Booked return flight in September, departure flight in January. The price was right.

Thanks for the reply's.

I've only ever booked roundtrip fares and this makes me really nervous.
I feel a bit better today..
Now , I'll just keep my fingers crossed Airtran doesn't change my flight!!:headache:
