I just mailed the following letter to the General Manager at the Wilderness Lodge. Perhaps I should be more accepting of change, but those poolside tables at WL are such a nice amenity. I wonder if others feel the same?
Dear Sir,
My wife and I are big fans of the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed there the year it opened and now visit several times each year as members of the Disney Vacation Club. One of our special activities at the lodge is to sit at the patio tables next to the main pool where we can eat a snack, read a newspaper, and watch our grandchildren in the pool. We also like to pick up breakfast in the Roaring Fork and take the tray out to the poolside tables and enjoy looking at the water and the beautiful scenery. The umbrellas are important most of the year as shade from the hot Florida sun.
Needless to say these tables are very popular, so we are very happy when we can find one empty, particularly in the busy seasons. We were thus very disappointed when we visited last week to see that 5 of the 9 tables had been moved from the pool area and placed behind the Trout Pass Bar. There are only 4 tables left by the pool, so it is going to be that much harder to get to use one. It appears that the moved tables are being used to expand the seating area for the Trout Pass Bar at the expense of those of us that use them by the pool. I hope that this is just an experiment to see if more seating is needed for the Trout Pass and that the 5 tables will be returned to the pool area in a short time.
Sincerely,
