:yay:Less than 48 hours until we arrive at DL and we will be there until Nov 10 so we also get to experience the opening day of Holiday time on this trip! What are the must do's on your list? We're planning on riding all the holiday themed rides at least once. I know we definitely want to see the parade and fireworks also. Any tips or advice on where and when to go for watching the parade and fireworks?

I keep telling myself that we are lucky to get to experience any of it but I so want to see as much as possible as we've never been to the parks outside of Halloween time. And also sample as many treats as possible lol...

Are you arriving tomorrow? And will be there for 1 day? The official start of the holiday season is on November 10th, so depending on when you will be there, the Christmas parade and fireworks might not be showing. I think they have started rolling out some of their seasonal treats though. I'm pretty sure that Jingle Cruise and the overlay for It's a Small World are still down this week as well. Hopefully a lot of the decorations will be up for your trip! I know the garlands are up and the castle has the snow overlay installed.

If the schedule is anything like last year, handmade candy canes won't start till the end of the month :-). As far as I know, the schedule hasn't even been released yet. I suspect they'll start right around Thanksgiving.

Sorry, lack of sleep caused the original post to be confusing lol. We are there nov 5th - 10th. Since we'll have several days in the parks to do everything, and only the opening day of holiday time to experience the actual holiday rides and events, I'm wondering what we should choose as I know we can't fit everything in as far as actual holiday time offerings. I've already decided that the fireworks are more important to us than the holiday world of colour. I would've booked the holiday tour but after hearing that it no longer includes any rides, I'm thinking those hours might be better spent checking out all the holiday events we can...

Gotcha! You might luck out with the rides, often they will have a "soft opening" a day or two before. Just keep checking the Disneyland app. This will by my family's first trip at Christmastime too, so I'm not a whole lot of help, but I've been reading up a lot about this year's offerings. I'm definitely looking forward to the Festival of Holidays! If you are excited about holiday treats, you'll want to check it out. Hope you have a great trip!!

Thanks so much for the response! Yes, although we've been to Disney before, going at Holiday time has made me feel like a newbie! We are so excited to see the decorations, parades and fireworks! If I do decide to see if we can get a last minute entry for the holiday time tour I'll be sure to post a review of it. Less than 12 hours now until we are on the plane to DL!!!

I am unsure of the homemade candy cane dates but if they are making them during your trip, get one.

Also we love the holiday treats so don't miss those.

The Christmas Tree at the GCH shouldn't be missed either. Two years ago we went down late at night, in our holiday pjs and took family pics. So much fun!

Don't miss IASW holiday.
