Hi,

We are going to TRY and beat the crowds this christmas by getting some stuff off of internet shops. However we don't know many except the usual suspects - amazon.co.uk and jungle.co.uk.

Does anybody have any reccomendations for good on-line christmas shopping for general stuff like portable cd players, digital cameras, games, dvd's etc.? Does anybody know any good sites?

Thank You!

Richard.

You can shop online at Argos - I have found their delivery service excellent. I'll be using them for lots of my shopping this year.
You can also order online at Early Learning if you want stuff for younger kids.

Hi Richard

I've used www.play.com for Playstation Games and Music - usually a good price an free delivery - usually very quick as well.

I've also used www.jungle.com recently for a PC game - it came 2 days after I ordered.

I usually use one of the comparison sites - www.kelkoo.co.uk and www.easyvalue.com - to see who is offering the best price. Try both sites as they seem to search different retailers

Good Luck

We have used both Comet and Dixons in the past for electrical stuff. Both reliable and prices cheaper than instore.

Have also just ordered some stuff from WH Smiths on-line.

Try www4.cd-wow.com for cds, dvds and games. We have used these a lot and they are very reliable. One DVD we ordered was despatched but never arrived with us. There was no problem in getting a replacement sent out.

I am a great fan of on-line shopping but have never had a problem with anything that we haven't been able to sort out.

Just can't wait until one of the supermarkets in this area will let me do my weekly shop on-line!

Just thought I'd bump this up. It made me smile to read it.

DW has re-discovered on-line shopping and my access card !

She made several purchases on-line on Saturday night.

They were from Pier, Game and Next !!

I had planned to do as much as possible online this year, but it's not as easy as you'd think, is it? There are quite a few things I want, but can't find online at all. Did get some stuff from Penhaligan's this morning, though that I'm really pleased with - beautifully wrapped and very 'gifty'. And I think I'm keeping Amazon in business! (And the postman fit!)

Crikey, these people are keen.

Janet ordered some stuff on Saturday night and the first parcel arrived this morning with another expected this afternoon !!

That's pretty good going. It's always reassuring when things turn up quickly.

I also prefer it when you get an e-mail to say the goods have actually been despatched.

I ordered a mobile phone from Virgin earlier this year, about 4.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and it turned up the next day (Sunday) about 5.30pm. I don't think that could be beaten.

I've been very impressed with Play.com and Argos on-line were pretty swift off the mark too.

As an aside, I posted a load of parcels at 4.30pm last Tuesday, second class, they arrived can you believe the next morning one to London the other to Newcastle!! Now I call that service - well done Royal Mail, oh I mean Consignia, or has it changed it's name again!

Mine are the usual,I found ordering online form Argos so stressfree, wouldn't have dreamed of trying to shop in there this time of year.Wellbeing (Boots) nice and easy........and alomg with Deb believe I am raising the stock price of Amazon;)

I did most of my Christmas shopping online last night:) but would you believe that Argos were sold out of one of the things I wanted, I mean its still 2 weeks until Christmas:rolleyes: I'm just going to try Index now. :teeth:
