They did not come with the Mickey backs.
I know I sound like a broken record here and I just don't get it this line of thinking. How are people getting the impression that a pin is not a Disney pin is it doesn't have the Mickey pin back??
Just because a pin does NOT have a Mickey head rubber back, does
NOT mean it isn't an OFFICIAL Disney Pin.
When you look for the authenticity of a pin you should be looking for the ©Disney on the
PIN not whatever backing is on it.
Did you know..............
Early Disney pins came with METAL frog backs.
Pins sold at the
Disney Store when Disney Pin Trading first became popular in 1999 came with metal backs.
Some Disney Pins especially those from Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI)
STILL come with metal backs.
You can't expect to buy pins in bulk or at discounted prices anywhere (ebay, private sellers, online sellers) and get the original pin backs? If that is important to you, you need to question every seller you intend to buy from before making the purchase.
I've bought some pins from ebay sellers years ago and never even got a pin back. It's the PIN that is important to me not the back. Who see the back???
If you want to be guarrenteed the original pin backs, then buy pins from their original source (the parks or Disney Shopping) and pay full price.
This post is not directed at any of the posters here, I'm venting. I'm trying to understand how people get this information about the Mickey head backs. Are Cast Members telling people that a pin is not official without the Mickey back??
Sorry.....this subject drives me nuts!!
Off my soapbox now and done beating the dead horse.
