Online Shopping Delivery to BWV

We had our first WDW stay in 2011 and we stayed at POR for that wonderful trip. Prior to the trip, we had great fun doing a bunch of online shopping and having it delivered to POR. Doing that and having it delivered to us here in New Zealand means high delivery fees (so hence we don't do it) but, as we had POR as a U.S. address, we made the most of offers with free delivery within the U.S. And, with Amazon, even though I just did one large order for a bunch of things, I was surprised that the whole order did not come in one big box but that lots of the things were sent separately. So when we got to POR and received all of our packages, it felt like Christmas opening them!

We have recently just booked come back again and this time to stay at BWV in a One-Bedroom which we are very excited about. But, as there are five of us, we will need an airbed so I plan to order one online and have it delivered BWV prior to our arrival. Similarly we'll probably want to do some other online shopping like we did last time (but the airbed is the priority) although, due to our awful exchange rate against the U.S, probably not as much as last time.

So I had presumed I could just have purchases sent to BWV like we did to POR and that they would be waiting for us when we got there. However I've just read that, due to something about being a convention hotel, it does not work like that at BWV. Also that there are limited hours of collection (we'd be arriving at about 4pm on a Saturday) and that you have to pay for them to receive the packages!! Because, if so, I'm not sure what and how they charge but, if our purchases were sent in lots of individual packages again, that could be a huge issue and financially difficult for us. Plus we need that airbed for our first night since our 18 year old daughter will need it.

Also, prior to our arrival, I'd plan to do a big Garden Grocer shop as we plan to make good use of the kitchen in the villa. Does BWV accept Garden Grocer orders and so you have to pay to receive them?

If any one knows anything about this, please advise.

Many thanks :)

I believe each package delivered to BWV will have a resort fee to pick it up. All guest shipments received at BWV go to the convention center and must be picked up there. At one time I believe that fee was $10 per package, but I am not sure what the actual process/fee is now.

Grocery deliveries are not subject to the fee. Groceries are a local delivery directly to Bell Services.

Could someone bring the airbed as a free carryon item on your flight? Kind of a pain to do but at least you know you would have it.

Oh gosh, what a disappointment. US$10 currently costs us NZ$15 so I could not risk doing an Amazon order for a bunch of things only to find they were each shipped individually and having to pay multiple pick up fees :( My fault I guess for not checking this before I booked BWV. I was just so excited about the chance to stay there and had presumed all Disney resorts offered the same service (i.e. complimentary package acceptance and storage).

Certainly a big relief they don't charge for grocery deliveries though.

Thanks so much for your advice.

Well, yes, it looks like we will have to bring an airbed with us. Such a nuisance to have to schlep one over to the U.S. with us all the way from New Zealand. I had just planned to order one from Amazon, have it delivered to BWV and then most likely leave it at BWV when we left.

Another option would be use a service like destination occasion, get all of your parcels sent to them and they then charge a one off fee to deliver them to your hotel, they would leave them with bell services so you wouldn't pay the resort for each parcel.

Are they a Disney business partner? I was told by management that only business partners, grocery, EVCs, strollers, could leave items with bell services, others the guest has to meet the delivery.

i received a package from amazon at bwv and did NOT pay a fee, though I did have to pick it up at a spot by the convention area. I was not aware this would have even been possible. this was in October of 2015. I also was not told that there was supposed to be a fee. again maybe teh exception....

I'm not actually sure however they leave stuff for me all the time, also I leave stuff with bell services for friends who are arriving shortly after I leave all the time and never have to meet to guests.

You aren't a business so you can leave things with bell services. Disney doesn't want bell services taking their time with commercial companies unless Disney is getting a fee for the company to become an "approved" partner. Don't know for sure but they may get an on-going fee.

Ah in that case maybe they do, I didn't know that :)

Get your daughter to take the airbed with her luggage!

Oh that daughters suitcase will already be full - probably half of it with makeup and beauty products!

To be honest, I don't know much about air-beds but I am presuming we would need the type that can self-inflate. I think self-inflating requires plugging a cord from the airbed into mains power. That's fine but any self-inflating bed that I buy here in New Zealand, while not only costing 2 x more than if I bought from the U.S., would presumably come with 230/240 voltage (in order to work in NZ) and a NZ style plug which is very different to the US ones. I could possibly use an voltage and plug size adapter but, oh gosh, it just sounded so much easier to order an American one from Amazon and have it delivered to our hotel...

have you considered renting a car for a day? Alamo/national have a desk at the Dolphin (short walk from the BW)....by the time you pay for grocery & other fees/tips, it might be more cost effective to simply drive to the nearby Super Walmart or Target & buy your supplies.
if you decide to do so, just make sure to book in advance - they do run out of cars, & prices are usually lower when advance booked.

I had not considered that and it's a good idea. May work. Will need to check with my hubby to see if he thinks he'd be ready to drive on the other side of the road so soon after arrival from the airport.

Travel Mum,
We were at the BWI in January,I had. 2 parcels delivered.
The one from Disney was delivered to the room, the other was from AG, I had to ask about that one, they told me it was at the Convention Centre, I walked down there , a couple of mins walk and picked it up.
Wasn't charged .
